Tea Party becomes latest target of race-card fraud

Tea Party becomes latest target of race-card fraud
By Thomas Sowell

Playing the race card takes many forms. This year's target is the Tea Party.

When leading Democrats, led by a smirking Nancy Pelosi, made their triumphant walk on Capitol Hill, celebrating their passage of a bill in defiance of public opinion, Tea Party members on the scene protested.

All of this was captured on camera and the scene was played on television. What was not captured on any of the cameras and other recording devices on the scene was anybody using racist language, as has been charged by those playing the race card.

When you realize how many media people were there and how many ordinary citizens carry around recording devices of one sort or another, it is remarkable — indeed, unbelievable — that racist remarks were made and yet not captured by anybody.

The latest attack on the Tea Party movement, by Ben Jealous of the NAACP, has once again played the race card. Like the proverbial lawyer who knows his case is weak, he shouts louder. That an organization like the NAACP, after years of fighting against genuine racism, should now be playing the game of race-card fraud is especially painful to see.

Some critics of the Tea Party have seized upon banners carried at one of its rallies that compared President Barack Obama to Hitler and Stalin. Extreme? Yes. But there was nothing racist about it, since extreme comparisons have been made about politicians of every race, color, creed, nationality, ideology and sexual preference.

Re: Tea Party becomes latest target of race-card fraud

JTH, there will be an orchestrated campaign to the likes that you have never seen before against these ordinary John and Jane Does that make up the Tea Party. From here until Nov you will see shit that will blow your mind. The leftist machine once it gets in motion is one that leaves death amd destruction in its path. The media will be completely and totally complicit in this. It is a machine that doesn't care how it achieves its goals - whether its smearing hard-working, honest Americans and painting them as racists  - just so long as they get the desired results.

Their next step is to infiltrate the TP organizations and pull outlandish stunts that members of the media will happen to be right there to document. It has already started.

You ain't seen nothin yet. Wait until desperation mode kicks in.

Breitbart isn't backing down or apologizing for the Sharrod story. He claims to have more videos, but they alread demonized him to look like a racist so I don't know if anyone will ever touch his stories again out of fear of being labled.

The Panthers & the Tea Party need to pull their heads out of their asses and realize race is not an issue. Our out of control government is trying to fuck everyone equally, that's the issue. They're pitting everyone against one another and the media just stirs the pot.

USE COMMON SENSE. QUESTION EVERYTHING. Or as a crazy acid head named Tim Leary once said; "Think for yourself, question authority. Tibs, you should really try to use some fucking logic buddy...  Wink

With no issue........the likes of Jesse Jackson, Panthers, etc.....would have no money or work. That`s why they are the first to stir the pot.

There were similar offers to find documented instances of voter intimidation in the 2000 and 2004 elections, but, for some reason, none ever surfaced.

Re: Tea Party becomes latest target of race-card fraud

I think it's pretty much the tail end of this form of politics from either side in this particular way.  It's getting to the point where people are finally starting to realize bone deep that the mike is always on and you are always on camera.

The remaining problem is with anyone who believes sound bites designed to get people to hear a claim and NOT hear it's proven rebuttal.

Black members of tea party dispute racist claims

By PHILIP ELLIOTT, Associated Press Writer Philip Elliott, Associated Press Writer   – 2 hrs 13 mins ago

WASHINGTON – Black members of the tea party movement on Wednesday rejected charges that the group's activists are racist, saying they oppose President Barack Obama because of his policies not his skin color.

The members gathered at a Washington news conference in the wake of allegations about its rank and file, heightened by the recent split with a Tea Party Express leader who had posted a letter on his blog written from "Colored People" to Abraham Lincoln. The post suggested that black people would choose slavery over having to do real work.

The black members said the racism that has been attributed to the tea party movement came from outsiders who infiltrated the groups to discredit their work and it should be rejected.

"These people do not oppose Barack Obama because of his skin color. They oppose him because of his policies," said Lloyd Marcus, a spokesman for the group.

The NAACP last month approved a resolution condemning racism within the tea party movement and called on activists to "repudiate the racist element and activities" within the political movement.

At the news conference, several members assailed Obama and the Democrats, often in harsh terms.

"Democrats have re-enslaved America," said Kevin Jackson, president of the Black Conservative Coalition. He said tea party activists, if successful, would reduce the size of government and set in motion another Emancipation Proclamation, the document that President Abraham Lincoln signed that effectively ended slavery.

"This time, even the white folks get freed," said Jackson, who accused Obama of viewing fellow blacks as "mongrels."

Democratic National Committee spokesman Hari Sevugan declined to respond to the tea party leaders' criticism. The White House also declined to comment.

Other tea party speakers called Democrats white supremacists and elitists. Conservative Moms for America leader Mary Baker said Democrats were pushing "anti-God politics."

"Destroy America. That's what the D in Democrat Party means," she said.

Alan Keyes, who unsuccessfully ran for the U.S. Senate against Obama in 2004, said the president "got elected on a virulent form of racism" by exploiting his race during the 2008 campaign.

The Tea Party Express, one of dozens of libertarian-leaning and anti-tax groups, organized the meeting with reporters to denounce racism and then accused its opponents of using allegations of racism to censor dissent.

Re: Tea Party becomes latest target of race-card fraud

I am 48 years old and I can honestly tell you I have never seen such a racial divide as I have witnessed as of late. I thought now that a President with a black heritage has been elected all this racial division would be put to bed. Instead, it has seemed to empower the race baiters to go out and cry wolf. They are trying to paint a racial issue into what is going on with Rangel and Waters, although they actually broke the law of ethics, allegedly. The NAACP should be the NAADCP - National Association for the Advancement of Democrat Colored People. To come out and call the Tea Party racist with out any proof is proof positive that they are an arm of the Democrat party. If you are black and a conservative, you are accused of being an Uncle Tom and ostracized from the black community.

I think the Dems are making a big mistake by criticizing the Tea Party. These peaceful rallies are nothing but Americans fed up with the way this country is being run. These Parties are gaining more and more momentum as the elections pull nearer. In a twisted way, this is one good thing that came out of the Obama era - the country gat a taste of Marxism/Socialism and energized a revolt against it.
