Bo Nix was as close as I could imagine to a guaranteed bust of a pick in round one. Literally the one guy I would not have even taken as an UDFA.

Born in 74... Became a fan during the Superbowl win v/s Washington. My Father had a Superbowl party that year. I remember seeing those jerseys...badass.
I was hooked ever since. The Raider "Image and mentality" matched my personality to a "T".
As it turned out, my Mother worked with one of Rod Martin's relatives. I got a lot of really cool shit during that time.
I am with a lot of fans here... I'm not wasting my Sundays watching games anymore.
Up until a few years ago, my Sundays were planned around watching Raiders football. I lost a lot of quality time with my family because of that.
Last year was the first year I didn't have Sunday Ticket in I can't remember how long. Very refreshing.
If we ever can get back to Glory, I'll re-up. As for now, I'm just a fan and always will be... just waiting for the magic to happen once again. My brother is a Browns fan. We don't bother watching either team until usually November. We have a standing tee time at 11:00 every Sunday as long as the wheather permits here in Ohio. :grin: As aggravating as golf can be.... it's a hell of a lot less aggravating than watching the Raiders and Browns. :rofl:

I‘m from germany and became a Raider 12 years ago when football started to to get popular over here. While everybody has chosen the fancy teams like the Patriots, Seahawks, Cowboys, 49ers, Packers and lately the Chiefs I decided to come to the dark side, knowing the Bay Area from several trips.

I have seen the Raiders play in Oakland, London, Vegas and made a trip to Miami. My only win I saw live was in London over the Bears. Every year I think „this is the year!“

Welp after yesterdays offensive performance I think I have to wait another year to talk some shit on all the german bandwagons.

People were impressed by Harbaugh in this game? Umm. Yeah. Sure. Harbaugh doesn't care about style points. He was playing chess while AP was playing checkers. Harbaugh never abandoned the run even when they had a miserable first half on offense. There was no panic. He knew if they played opportunistic on defense kept chipping away with the running game that eventually the Raiders defense would leak because this is the Raiders after all. It was a pretty comfortable win for them in the end as there was no threat of the Raiders tying the game late.

You realized he’s changed the goalposts right? He used to say Washington was better now it’s “ more talented.” Oh absolutely!

Been watching this team lose since 1985. Every loss has stung. Happy to report that this sting only hurt a little bit. I guess I’m finally down to the level of an objective observer. Thanks Raiders for helping me get over being a die-hard Raider fan.

Harbaugh drafted Alt instead of Nabers which would've given Herbert a deadly weapon but instead he has nobody. Which is fine with me but I'd be pissed if I was a Chargers fan.

Drafting a LT when you already have an All-Pro LT when you have no good receivers is totally a dumb Gruden thing Crosby had zero pressures when Alt blocked him. He was the right selection, imo. He stonewalled Crosby. Not many can do that. Quite impressive, especially coming from a rookie.

Deandre Washington was more talented. He has 1,200 career rushing yards and was out of the league within 5 years and you say he's more talented than an NFL rushing champion with over 5,600 rushing yards and 46 TDs who just got a big contract this off-season.

This was a winnable game against a mediocre opponent. The Chargers would have defeated very few NFL teams today with their performance as their passing game is non-existent but Harbaugh knew that they just had to keep running the ball and hanging around as the Raiders would implode and they did. Once Carlson missed that makeable FG I knew it was game over as he's one of the few things this team can depend on weekly and if he's off then you know it's not their day.

We have a shot along with Gardner. I agree and good take. I do not want to think that far down the road in regards to KC. Our TE's (people are sleeping on Mayer) are going to cause fits especially with a QB who is capable of rolling out. Hopefully we get enough from our running game to keep defenses honest.

The dynamics of 11 on 11, 22 vs 22 put heavy emphasis on coaching & game plan. The Ravens are not a poor team. If I'm a Ravens fan I'm worried. The wheels are gonna fall off that wagon in ways they've seen before. Jackson ain't lasting 18 games with that type of game plan. They abandoned the run and/or, from what I saw, had their offensive line pummeled at the point of attack against a defensive front that has a star in Chris Jones. The Chiefs run common sense smash mouth concepts on defense that I love. They play press man combined with timely blitzes with it all built around their star defender. Yeah they get calls etc but they give themselves the best chance to succeed while also stressing the opposing team in the chess match. The Ravens tonight got outcoached & outplayed badly. With that being the fact they barely lost goes to show to me that KC is entirely beatable. We all know it, the Raiders beat them at home last year.

This Raider team has a lot to like. They're returning 8-9 starters on defense with an addition of a top 5 defensive tackle. Same DC in place is key here. The oline minus right guard to me is very solid (assuming JPJ isn't injury prone going forward). They have a QB who fits the Raider mold finally who's just a fuckin gamer. He's an underdog & the Raiders have historically done well with that at QB against all the doubts. Weapons all over in the pass game with a legit dawg at running back in Zeus White.

This ties back to 11v11, 22v22 in chess match. Game within the game. The staff needs to get these guys in position game in game out to succeed. To make in game adjustment when need be. That's the question for me. The Raiders have what it takes to put a fat L on any team in the league on a pretty consistent basis. It's time for this to happen as they have the horses to do so with a head coach with some sack whom the players love

Not saying you, but all pre draft the Never Carter people seam to have vanished. I’m fine with passing on Carter. Raiders weren’t in position to draft a player with questionable character given what happened under the previous regime. It was just dumb to draft a developmental player coming off foot surgery when there were immediate impact players available where they picked.

Maybe Wilson pops in his 2nd season? Wouldn’t be the first time a highly drafted player took a big step in season 2. That said this is the Raiders we are talking about so if I had to put money down I would put it on him being a bust because it seems Ziegler and McDaniels were pretty clueless.

I've stated Josh Jacobs was overrated day 1 and he'd eventually be off the team. That's exactly what happened. There's nothing subjective about it. Literally every player in the NFL will eventually be cut, traded, suspended/banned by the league, will retire, or will die while still on the active roster. Once that happens, he will be "off the team." You get zero credit for "predicting" something with a 100% chance of happening.

It would be like me predicting "Kamala Harris will eventually be out of office." Obviously she will be, whether that day is 1/20/2025, 1/20/2029, 1/20/2033, or some other date. I can predict with 100% certainty that she will eventually be out of office. But when she does leave office by whatever means, I cannot use that exit as evidence of my awesome skills of political prognostication. It simply doesn't work that way.

It has become clear that this (now repetitive) thread has three constituents:
1. About six or seven people who call Wilson an outright bust and are pissed we drafted him.
2. Three people (there could be a couple more hedging that) who say he is actually playing well and doing his job
3. The rest of us who say he might be a bust and we are looking for major improvement. Nay -- some of us will take any improvement before we call him a bust.

I did not express any feelings about it. I have not rooted against him -- per ealirer posts -- go back and you will see I hope he improves and NEVER said I hope he fails. Never. I simply agree with those who says he MIGHT be a bust and I watch his film and see a lackluster player. I don't need to prove I am right. In fact, he he turns it on and performs I will praise his effort and say that my initial (after watching him for a year) impression was wrong. it is ironic to me that the guy who is bent on being right no matter what is the guy who is calling you out for the same thing?

Everything all of you are saying about Tyree, I said before the draft. I knew this guy was no player and just had size in his benefit. Looking at his film, I could see and knew he was not a player, he just got by on his physical gifts. But he was no football player, just a specimen. and everyone in the Raiders front office and a lot on this site fell for it.

I hated it when he was drafted and now I see most everyone here has finally seen the truth. Unless a miracle happens this guy is another wasted 1st round pick that NEVER should have happened.

I still can't believe the raiders front office could not see it and I could. And now there are 154 pages on this guy that never should have been drafted in the first place...lol Want a cookie?
