Were McDaniels a great head coach the day he took the Raiders job he would have traded Carr. You don't bring Adams in to reunite with DC and yank him after a few games. That would make lil hoodie look really stupid at that point of the season, and make Adams question why he came here in the first place.

If we tag Jacobs and he can't find a team willing to give up two first-rounders for him, he has three options:

1) Play on the tag

2) Stay home and leave $10.5 million on the table with no guarantee he'll ever see it again

3) Stay home for half the season, then come in right at the deadline. That's $5 million left on the table, and we could still tag him for 2024.

He'll take Door #1 unless he's a total idiot. Option 4 is come in right before the regular season and be a malcontent that would have ripple effects on the team.

Raiders are in a tough spot. JJ worked his ass off to cash in.....Raiders need to let him walk. JJ I'm guessing has loyalty to green more than Silver n Black at his point in his career.

Round one saw Tom Brady (45) and Kirk Cousins (34) bow out. Aaron Rogers (39) missed the playoffs with a week 17 loss. All had poor performances.

Let's take a look at the ages of QBs who are left:

Allen, 26
Prescott, 29
Jones, 25
Mahomes, 27
Burrow, 26
Lawrence, 23
Purdy, 23
Hurts, 24

Did that hit differently? Not only are there no 30 year olds in the second round, the mean age of the QBs left is 25.375 years. And people want to bring a 46 year old in? :dazed: No offense to anyone, but this is insanity. Bringing in Tom Brady is something Al might have done at his lowest point before he passed on.

This is a new league and some of you have not accepted that fact. We are not contenders, repeat, we are not contenders. We aren't a stacked roster with proven success that needs a vet to get is over the hump like the Rams were last year.
The only reason to bringing in a vet QB is to serve in the capacity of a back up to a younger QB. That vet need not be a name guy. Back to the age means, guys who is slightly above that means? Jared Stidham at 26. He doesn't have to learn how to mesh with the team because he is already on the team. He doesn't need to learn a system because he has been in it for 4 years. I said this about a week ago and a couple of posters mocked me for saying it, but I'll repeat myself after the playoff wildcard round: Whether we select a rookie QB this year or next year, it should be Stiddy's job to lose. I'm all for bringing back one........ Nathan Peterman to take on Stid.

IMO, there was possibly an "us vs. them" mentality that was created. It may have been unspoken, untalked about, unexpressed, but something in the locker room went off the rails and did not get repaired. No idea who the "us" or the "them" was but as a team, they were never the same again. Trust was broken. A sinister plot? Nay.......I say.
