It feels like the next best thing is happening with the Raiders. Looks like Mark Davis is letting Tom Brady take over the GM and coaching decisions and removing himself somewhat. This is beginning to feel momentous.

As good as Daniels is, he's another Rook experiencing the playoffs for the 1st time. Odds are against them.

The silver lining is they are gaining valuable experience which gives them a boost in their development.

Fair enough. Nix was impressive this year no doubt and time will tell whether he develops into an super elite QB or hits a peak like Herbert may have. And I did see Nix hit receivers, he had a few deep great deep balls this year that looked good including one today which is significant since he was known as a checkdown artist coming out of college.

That said at the end of the day he's still a division rivaland I for one will not celebrate his success as a Bronco. If ends up with a Dolphin jersey someday then maybe I'll like him a little better, sorry just can't root for the kid at this time I wanted to see the Raiders move up and grab Nix B4 the dunks. Nix is the perfect QB for Payton. He took a cast off Brees and the rest is history. Nix reminds me of Brees.

What is encouraging about the "New NCAA," is that QB's entering the draft are considerably more polished; even from programs such as Ohio State that traditionally ride a QB's athleticism rather than developing their game. From a developmental standpoint Power 4 conferences are producing more quality NFL starters than ever before. That is about the only net result that I can consider a positive. Good point. Sadly on the other hand the portal and NIL are driving the older good coaches away. Talent is getting more and more concentrated.

Blo Dix didn’t disappoint I see, he played sub 500 teams all year to sneak into the playoffs. Plus Donks run defense sucks, Bills owned time of possession 30 minutes to 12 halfway through the 2nd half, you’re not winning playoffs games like that especially with shit QB play. Hard to blame a rook QB making his 1st playoff experience. Growing pains.

Levis has a cannon for an arm and a lot more athletic. He needs to be properly coached. Not if he’s working with a qb coach in the offseason but he needs to be That's the problem. Too many bad coaches. A QB coming out of college can only hope he's drafted by a competent organization. Odds are not in their favor as the shit organizations are always drafting in the top 10. On the contrary, this is a Raiders franchise that will have over $100 million dollars in cap space and an open quarterback room for whichever guy Johnson sees fit to run his offensive system. Keep in mind that the Raiders seem willing to spend whatever the price tag is for Johnson to become their head coach. Additionally, the Raiders do have some key pieces that Johnson can build around when constructing his roster.

For starters, he’s got Maxx Crosby and Christian Wilkins on defense. He’s been part of a Lions team that has built their defense from the ground up, and it all started with drafting players such as Aidan Hutchinson, Alim McNeill, Josh Paschal and others. With the amount of cap space they’ll have, it wouldn’t be surprising if there’s some money spent on reshaping the defense and building around Crosby and Wilkins.

As for the offense, it’s clear the Raiders hit a home run by selecting tight end Brock Bowers. He had the best rookie season of any tight end in NFL history and he’s already earned First-Team All-Pro honors in his first season. Paired with Bowers is wide receiver Jakobi Meyers and they’ve got an adequate offensive line that is led by left tackle Kolton Miller.

The key hold up with the Raiders is what direction they go at quarterback.

We could see them add a veteran quarterback such as Daniel Jones or make a potential trade for Kirk Cousins. Either player could serve as a potential bridge quarterback. If Johnson is lucky, maybe Jones develops into the guy for him. Either way, he’ll have options at quarterback especially since the Raiders will have plenty of draft capital.

They have 10 total picks in the 2025 NFL Draft and that includes the 6th overall pick in the first round. Could they move up for quarterbacks such as Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward? Anything is possible.

One thing is for sure, Ben Johnson is starting to feel more and more like a fit for the Raiders than any other team. In previous years, it always felt like Johnson was going to stay in Detroit for the foreseeable future. But the future is now and the pairing of Johnson and Vegas could be inevitable.
