That was an awful 3 and out at the end of the game by Mr. Guru Payton. 3 incomplete passes and when they were down by the goal line they threw that pass on 2nd down that fell incomplete. Did he go to the AP school of time management? Fuck him. He was trying to rub salt in our wounds. I can't stand that dickwad.

The QB issues were clearly out of his hands but I'm baffled as to how you make so many wrong decisions during games when you have an army of former head coaches as your mentors.

If we can get someone like Ben Johnson then I'd fire AP into the sun but if the other options are bullshit retread coaches (Vrabel) then I'd give him another year. We've seen the story of retread coaches a thousand times and I'm just really sick of it. Try something new.

We are out coached, out prepared every week. I was in favor of AP getting his shot, but he has and he sucks.

I do think they play hard fkr AP but that just isnt enough. Almost every single player and phase of the game has taken a step back this year and AP has also made many in game and immature mistakes. I see nothing in his coaching that tells me he is a guy to lead a team to long term success.

No gymnastics required, I come from a different time where we werent coddled. I did 2 tours in combat, and I have never missed a day of work because I couldnt get my shit together. Good for you. I haven't missed many days of work in my lifetime, either - probably between 10 and 15 and I'm 59. Twice in my life I have gone straight from the operating room to work on the same day (hernia repair and shoulder reconstruction surgery). When my dad was dying, though, I needed to take a few days off to be with him and support my family, so I needed my coworkers to cover me for a few days. I stayed awake at his bedside for three days straight, in part because I was working all night to make things manageable for my coworkers, but I guess that was "getting my shit together" to badasses like yourself.

Men used to be men, and now they are like coddled little girls because they have "problems". Everyone has problems. The difference is they make their problems everyone elses problems.
By all means get the help you need, and luckily he has the finances and support system to get it.
But Im not going to act like he is some kind of hero for leaving people that were depending on him so he can deal with his shit when others are dealing with the same shit without burdening others.

Could be. But I'm thinking he just can't fire somebody without the support of upper management. And I would certainly hope that guys like Brady, Seymour and Telesco would see right through that. This was a long time coming and thought out... Generally HCs do have the authority over at least hiring their assistants. Firing may be a different matter.

This just smells like a panic move, and one that doesn't bode well for AP's judgement. Firing even one assistant after nine games means you're acknowledging you made a terrible hire, never mind firing three assistants at once.

A move that had to be made. I guess they think they can somehow salvage the season? The AFC is so bad this year, they technically aren't out of it but, I'm not expecting that drastic of a transformation in the offense. And while I don't believe in or support tanking, the fact of the matter is, trying to make some last ditch effort to compile some wins will only hurt our draft position. Hopefully they have a plan of action to acquire what this roster needs regardless of where we finish.

Detriot should be the SB favorite at this point. I hope so, their fans deserve it.

Ever think the execution is poor because every defense knows how to recognize and shut down the simpleton design and calls?
If this is true Im shocked AP cant recognize what is going on right under his nose.
How can he not see every defense we have faced blows up nearly every play without issue?
How can he not see how ineffective the scheme is?
How can he not hold the person responsible for getting the offense to play as a unit, when they are looking like they are clueless?

Like I said weeks ago, AP is going to get himself fired by being loyal to a buffoon.

I have never seen an offense more out of sync than this one. Its Getsy's responsibility to fix it, and it never gets better.

After the Raiders get smoked this week, he needs to send Getsy packing during the bye if he is going to save his job.

We likely lose this one but, win or lose, AP needs to make changes over the bye week. If he doesn't then he absolutely is not an NFL head coach. Most don't think he's an NFL head coach anyway, but as long as he's the Raiders' coach I'll hope for him to figure it out. I may be hopeful, but wouldn't bet on it. For me the damage is done.

Anything he does from here on out will not move the needle for me. I just don't think he is the type of HC who will attract the best OC this offseason.

It has been suggested that he has already meddled with the offensive game plan this season and with poor results. Definitely not the sort of thing that will attract the best OC let alone the best available offensive mind.

The Raiders need to get smarter and that means some people who are in over their heads need to go and they need to be replaced by astute football minds.

While we moan and groan about the Raiders not having a QB who can compete with the best (and the fans should moan and groan about that), I believe it is as important to the fate of the franchise that they also find their HC who can scheme, game plan and manage a game with the best of them. They do not need one or the other, they need both.

As for this Sunday, in my humble opinion, I think that Cincy has more to play for and probably down deep think they have more of a chance of getting back in this thing so no, the forecast is not looking good for the Raiders.

I'm genuinely wondering why people think Ben Johnson would want to come here?? In a vacuum we're a good landing spot if:

1- we have a very high draft pick for a QB

2 - Mark Davis backs up the Brink's truck and doesn't stop dumping money until Johnson says to stop

3 - Davis gives some guarantees about having a certain amount of roster input

4 - Tom Brady being a minority owner and having a more active role in the organization means anything to Johnson

Aside from "being cursed" we're actually a really attractive place for a coach to come in and turn a team around. It's a brand new stadium with state of the art facilities and everything that comes with that.
We also appear to be in decent shape regarding the salary cap!

What other teams will be better options anyway?

New Orleans is in salary cap hell

Jacksonville is pretty dysfunctional and spending a ton of money on a very mid QB with no way out for awhile

Cleveland is literally in purgatory for the next 2 years because of the rapist and that dumb contract

I guess you could argue Philadelphia and Dallas as being the biggest competition for Ben Johnson so hopefully we start tampering soon and get ahead of those teams!

Kicking that field goal is the new #1 of dumbest decisions he's made.

AP you need a fuckin touchdown. By kicking a field goal you now have to burn all 3 timeouts to stop the clock plus not let the rams convert a first down or the game is over and then you have to drive 90 yards to get back to that same position you were just in. All with 2:50 left in the game.

My mind is still blown, only thing that would make sense is that he's in on the tank job because I can't believe he's this clueless.

We sent 1st and 2nd round pics for adams, didn't win dick and get a 3rd back .. .hopefully a second. The current regime did not make the initial trade. Telesco did his best to get out the Adams contract he inherited and get what he could in return. Considering that, he did good.

Even if he is traded, his new team is not taking on his 2025 and 2026 salary, so he's likely a FA anyway and he might not even be in the AFC west beyond this season. Yeah I ain’t cool with giving the chiefs the one thing they might need for a 3peat. That matters to me.
