QBs need to throw. If they can process and get the ball out it will beat running any day of the week. They also have to know when to just ho and get a couple. Some really good pocket passers who weren’t mobile have done this very well Yea 20 years ago if you remove Brady from the equation

The first two had rookie campaigns that legitimately gave their franchises hope for the future, and McCarthy suffered a freak knee injury he likely would not have suffered had we drafted him (as he would have been in a different place and different situation at the exact moment of the injury).

Telesco's failure to trade up cost us a season of QB development during Crosby's prime, even if Bowers did make for a hell of a silver lining. Great fucking point, sir.

There were plenty of goods available to craft something up and those opportunities don’t pop up every day or even every year.

Cowboys just parted ways with McCarthy. I’m worried they’re gonna be our primary competition for Ben Johnson.

I don’t think the Bears or Jags are a serious threat to land Ben Johnson.

Maybe the Bears with Caleb? He didn’t have the best rookie year but he still has some of the luster of hype — an offensive mind might be intrigued by the appeal of a former #1 pick. But it’s a current rival, does he want to go full heel?

Jags don’t scare me at all tho, no top tier coach in their right mind is going anywhere near Jax while Baalke is there.

But the cowboys are interesting. They have Dak, CD, some defensive pieces, a pick in the top half of the order. I read in an instragram comment section that Ben grew up a diehard cowboys fan (haven’t been able to verify it yet).

I’ve wanted Ben all season, and now that it seems like a real possibility, gonna feel like a kick in the nuts if we miss out.

If Brady wasn’t here, I’d already be warming up to consolation prizes like Coen and Pete (some have even made compelling cases for each one of those coaches to be the first choice).

But with Brady in the building, I’m still hoping Ben is sold on putting his creative stamp on a new era of Raider football Jerry jones will be a natural deterrent. I’m not worried.

McCarthy is a great “fallback” option if Ben Johnson isn’t available.

We are in no position to be drafting a guy like dart, with as many issues he has, instead of getting a QB that’s proven they can actually process the field. It screams cognitive dissonance.

You only draft a guy like dart when you have a vet that’s kind of solid, but you need someone to step up and maybe replace him, see: New Orleans saints.

What makes him a good fit though?

He hasn’t got a strong arm, he isn’t a great athlete and he’s probably 6ft-6ft1 so not particularly tall either.

Out of all the QBs that was considered draftable, Beck, Milroe, Ewers, Ward, Allar etc. Sanders not only has thrown the highest amount of screens, he also has thrown the least amount deep and still managed to have the longest time to throw on average.

He’s got the physical tools of a Tua, but he tries to play like Caleb Williams, but understands his arm isn’t good enough at least. But he’s still throwing to Hunter and other NFL targets, while having former two time NFL head coach calling the plays for him.


You can’t put him in a vertical offence as he doesn’t have the tools, so it’s got to be a west coast style offence. But with his long time to throw, is he going to be able to get the ball out fast enough and on schedule consistently.

Whoever drafts him, will have to create a playbook around his limitations, try and coach him into being more of a game manager, while keeping some of the flair if things break down, while also trying to make sure you don’t rub his ego the wrong way and hope he doesn’t try and be a celebrity off the field before he’s done anything on it.

We’re on about drafting a guy 1# overall with the hope he can develop into Tua!! While putting him into Vegas… Are we talking about sanders or some other guy, because your observations are incredibly inaccurate. A weak arm where? He has plenty of arm strength and processes the field and has a high football IQ. Something every single other prospect struggles with.

This game is slightly more boring than I thought it would be.

The maturity factor is the only red flag on Sanders (his dad aside)

There are some questions about his arm, but that to me is not a red flag, but more that college QB's are not taught proper technique. That can be fixed by teaching him how to use his core and legs when setting up for the pass. But he has the talent for sure. And he sees the field very well, he was hitting receivers in stride all season.

But losing to KSU and KU was concerning to me. Those really should have been wins, especially KU. Those were mental losses more than them just getting wrecked by an opponent. I didn’t watch the KU game, but that KSU game wasn’t on him at all. He had 3 TDs and a 93% completion rate going into the 4th Quarter in that game. CU’s defense just couldn’t stop a toddler from busting out a wet paper bag that day.

Why is Cam Ward rated below Shedeur Sanders even though he is more mobile, has a stronger arm, & seems to throw the ball from all kinds of arm slots? Bc he holds on to the ball longer and doesn’t process the field as fast as shadeur

In fact, no one in college football processes the field faster than shadeur. His football IQ is what makes him stand out. This is why I keep saying I see Brady in his game.

Look at your avatar if you are wondering why people are worried about his daddy. He's already angling to get both of his sons drafted to the same team - that doesn't concern you? I wouldn't be surprised in the least if he makes them a package deal, and if he does, what do you do with Silo? It has nothing to do with whether people like or dislike Deion as a person, he has the potential to be a huge liability to the team that drafts his kids.

I'm warming up to the idea of drafting Shadeur, and I do think he might wind up being a reasonable NFL QB, but daddy's over-involvement is a huge red flag. Nope. No concern at all. Just a father that wants the best for his son and sees Vegas as that place for him. We should be honored actually - especially when you consider the days where you had a guy like Crabtree praying to god that we didn’t draft him. We need to appreciate times like these.

Sanders has the pedigree to play in the NFL.

Some of you guys think he won't make it in the NFL? He's been around football his whole life and seems to want to build his craft. Lots of positives about that kid. They are letting their dislikefor his daddy get in the way of accepting he is a talented QB worthy of being chosen at the top of the draft.
