Damn it, my team sucks again. Only 2-3 weeks in to the season and this team is out of it. Man my co-workers are going to be relentless.
Its such an empty feeling, its like your dog died or your wife left you.
And then knowing they are going to get pummeled for the next few months, and then the same people will be in charge, doing the same thing next year.
Man, it is brutal being a Raider fan.

I thought this was a 6 win team before the season, after the bills game I thought maybe 3 wins, no Im seriously not sure if we can win another game this season.
The bears are our next chance, and even that is iffy.
This team has no guts, no anything. They are slow, unmotivated, weak, uncoordinated, sloppy.... and just plain bad.
I just dont know how they are THIS bad, like, lucky to win another game bad.

So my rule the past few years that has helped my football sanity a lot is, I only watch when they are .500 or better.
I think I just watched my last game for the season, and that sucks. But there is no chance they get back to .500 at any point this season, and Im not wasting away my life watching losing football, when there is a million other fun things I could/will be doing.
I will watch the stats role by on my phone from the golf course or fishing boat. They get back to .500 I drop everything and watch a game.
I will still be around to talk about Manglefoot jr.

You know, instead of looking like a corpse for 99% of the time and trying to win the game on last second heroics like a bunch of losers, why not play with a sense of purpose to begin with?.

Tonight proves that changing QBs does not in fact cure your ills. The defense is still bad,the online is still suspect and McDaniels isn't HC material. To be fair, Jimmy is not seeing wide open guys. He is playing really really bad.
If we replaced the last guy with someone competent, it might be different.

At this point I think O'Connell could run thos offense WAY better than what we are seeing.

Thos is the worst team we have had in years. That is really saying something.
We haven't had a good team, but this team is unwatchable.
I feel really bad for Maxx amd Adams. They should be allowed to find new teams right away.
Both players are wasting their efforts with whatever this thing is.

The last coach I really liked was Cable, and he was fired after going undefeated in the division, and finally getting us out of that sub .500 world we lived in for a decade.

Watching the 9ers effort on offense and defense makes me realize even more how slow and weak the raiders are .

For months you said he was a wasted draft pick. "Can't throw it 20 yards. Can't even throw a spiral. Looks like he is throwing a shot put. Major project who will never amount to anything" Now he is game ready and we are wasting the second coming of Brady :rofl: . You can't make this stuff up :party: It did look like he was throwing a shot put. I didnt like the pick (wanted defense, still do) . He looked weak-armed and unsure. I didnt think he was a project, because I didnt think he would see the feild after preseason.
He came in and proved me (and a lot of other people) wrong. You could tell he put in a ton of work, and looked very good.
When people get locked in to their opinions even though all the proof shows other wise, that is ignorant. He changed my opinion 100%.
I think Wilson is an awful pick. So far he has looked every bit as awful as I thought. If he starts to look great I will say Im wrong.
O'Connell looks like he can start, and any layperson could see he looked WAY better than hoyer.
Am I not supposed to have an opinion about drafted players or just not negitive ones?
I still think this draft was pretty much trash top to bottom.

AOC has been inactive every game so far. If Jimmy G goes down they’re rolling with Hoyer which tells me they’re not serious about winning and perhaps don’t really view AOC as next up. They might be angling for one of the top QBs next draft. O'Connell was the best looking rookie qb I saw in the preseason around the NFL. So it would be just like the Raiders to pass him over for some other jackass.
For now I am going say they are "protecting" him. Hoyer is an automatic loss, he stinks.
The staff saw the same thing we saw from O'Connell. He looks ready. He looks more than ready. The coaching nstaff have hoyer as 2nd string is the same jackassery we always see with this team.
I think they know If Jimmy went down, and O'Connell came in, we would never see Jimmy again. But if hoyer goes out and stinks it up we will be clamoring for Jimmy to come back.
I have no faith in any decision this team makes. Seems like every choice makes us that much worse.

Again, why pick a guy under these conditions? There were guys available to help immediately. Regardless of the outcome, it was the wrong decision. /\ this 10000% if Wilson, was injured , not ready, and the other 100 excuses given, why are we drafting him?

Just another awful decision by the Raiders that sets us back yet again, and after 20 years of this it almost feels like its on purpose at this point.

They were gashed by the run last night even after Chubb was injured.

If Chubb didn't go down they were going to go down. They were huffing and puffing being on the field all night and not being able to stop it. This is what we need to do. They currently sit dead last in the league being able to stop the run. Our star rb had negitive yards on Sunday. That had never happened before, a former rushing leader having negitive yards in a game... but it did on Sunday. Our star RB is averaging 23 yards a game.
We are not gashing anyone.
There is no chance of us going down field, so they just keep everyone close to the line and there is no where for a RB to go.
This team is in big trouble. I think they get handled by the steelers.

I expect a loss. This team is broken. It has been for a very long time. I dont know if its bias, a curse, planned, or they just suck and cannot stop sucking, but they are terrible again.
I said they could win 6 or 7 games this season, but after watching a bunch of other teams now, I dont think so. Raiders look lost in every phase.
Its about to get ugly.

But this is what we expect and accept as Raider fans.

I know the same people will get on and do their " its just one game, its still early, need to gel, he is just a rookie, bad match up, we will get them next time" routine, but it is just hollow. We have heard it over and over, year after year.. This is what the Raiders have been for 21 years and will continue to be, until they arent.
We will all be aware they dont suck, when they dont suck. You wont have to convince anyone.

He is not good and he is not going to be good. The only thing he has that converts to the NFL is size. That and a nickle will get you jack squat.
We have seen players defended from criticism so many times on this forum only to have them wash out. He does not look good at all, not just rookie bad, not just injured rookie bad, but bad bad.
He still has 15 games to find his way to at least not a liability this season.

that was how he was listed last week I believe. That does not nullify his contract nor his money. He would have to be removed from the roster for that. Conduct Detrimental is tougher to nail down. That would require a review by the NFL and NFLPA and those two rarely agree lol I think when you openly try to extort the owner on social medial for playing time, pretty clear cut "conduct detrimental"

1. Despite Mack not having a sack until late in to his rookie year, he looked amazing to me. He looked like he was an nfl player, you could tell it was only a matter of time before he was dominating.
2. The reason why I'm harping on him isnt about Wilson he didnt draft himself. The FO and coach said the wanted a day one starter who would contribute right away. Wilson was never going to be that.
3. People here were talking about him being droy, he was never going to be that.
4. His VERY slow get off may have been by design, maybe to contain Russell Wilson, maybe he was uncertain of what to do (not good at this point), or maybe he is slow, and now vs NFL looks extra slow. I never saw where he had a lightning fast get off in college. He was a big guy that bull rushed people, like I said from the beginning, that alone will not translate to this level.
Last, I guess I just dont see what others see in him. He has all year to prove me wrong. I hope he starts proving me wrong this week.

So it appears this thread has run its course. The final verdict is: Sacks and turnovers are NOT overrated, and yes they do matter.
