ATTENTION: Forum Rules - PLEASE READ
POST CONTENT RULES
◾Keep it clean - you know what that means. Sometimes it gets a little vulgar around here, but try not to get too gross, if you cross the line you'll get suspended without a warning.
NO POLITICS.
NO RELIGION.
NO PORN.
This is a football message board.
◾Race discussion is not allowed. Suggesting that other users have a racial bias is not allowed. Prejudicial discussion or slurs rooted in racism, homophobia, religious prejudice, nationalism, or the mentally or physically challenged.
◾Personal attacks or impersonating other users is not permitted. Fighting back against a personal attack with a personal attack of your own is also not permitted. Post, not the poster (Play the ball, not the man) - If you don't like what a post says, counter the post. Do not attack the poster. Personal comments, such as "you don't know anything about football" or "you obviously don't watch the games", are considered personal attacks, and thus fall under the "looking for a fight" rule. If you are using the word "you", there's a good chance you're engaging in a personal attack. If someone attacks you or makes an offensive comment, don't quote it and don't attack back. Report it.
◾Trolling - trolling is a difficult term, with far-ranging definitions. The bottom line is this question: "is it destructive". If a post, or a poster, is destructive to a thread or the forum, by driving away conversation or other posters, they can be considered for warnings/bans. It can be considered destructive if the intent of the poster is nothing more than to provoke or "make fun of" other posters. You have to have a thick skin to hold some discussions but the moderators are aware of this, and it is taken into account. For a given post, this can be a subjective call, but a pattern of such posting or an especially egregious case can get you banned.
◾Misleading or ambiguous thread titles - In order to keep the board clean and keep from having multiple threads on the same topic, please make your thread title somewhat descriptive. If you need to use a misleading thread title to get members to click on your thread, then you may not have a point that's worthy of a new thread - if you do this then your thread might be deleted, and if you repeat it then you might lose the ability to create any threads at all. If you use a descriptive thread title then it's less likely that someone else will make another thread on the same topic - mods will merge similar threads but would prefer not to have to take that time. Make it easy on us, please.
◾Don't belabor a point - You may have a strong view on a subject but constantly repeating the same arguments or points over and over again leads nowhere. At some point it's time to accept that people have read it and they either agree or disagree, but rehashing it won't change that - it's especially detrimental to discussion if you're making the same points in every thread.
◾Stay On Topic - If you disagree with a post and need to say so, be respectful when explaining why and focus on post content and not the member who posted it. Off topic threads and posts may be moved to a more appropriate place or deleted.
◾Spamming the board by posting the same argument, link, meme or other in multiple threads is not permitted. Find the best place to post something, and leave it there.
◾Post count spamming is not tolerated. Bumping threads with one word responses, smilies, and other nonsense which brings nothing positive to the conversation. The purpose of this rule is to keep threads and forums clean, and avoid burying the topics and replies users took time and effort to write.
◾Bumping dead threads for no reason is not permitted. If you're bumping a thread that's months old then you should at least be adding some new information - "what do you think now?" is not new information.
◾Posting of fake news or fake information is not tolerated here. Knowingly posting false reports, inaccurate information, fake tweets or altered articles will be dealt with appropriately. Proof of point, opinions, and common knowledge. You have to provide some proof using linked sources or verifiable material. Or, you can just state "in my opinion". If, on the other hand, it is in the realm of "common knowledge", then it is acceptable to make an unverified statement.
◾Discussion of Raiderforums.com private messages is not appropriate for public forums. If a member has sent an offensive or attacking PM then forward it to a mod for resolution or use the PM reporting system.
◾PM's must follow similar rules to posts - no personal attacks, trolling etc.
