Re: JG in concussion protocol.

I may have missed it but I didn't see a hit on Garoppolo that should have put him in protocol. Having him in protocol now, McDaniels should keep him out a minimum of this week. My hunch is that it actually occurred in the game before and may have been restruck with that one hit in the game where he stayed down for a sec

Re: Steelers At Raiders on SNF Game Thread

I usually don't get on coaches but he just totally mismanaged the 4th qtr. He doesn't kick the FG earlier when they have a 4th down that would have cut the deficit to . He goes for it and lose points and field position. He then make a fg with plenty of time on the clock but takes the penalty (if you do that fine, but you are all in trying to get 8 pts and the tie) only to kick a FG after draining 2 minutes off the clock. This makes the penalty on the Steelers actually a better outcome for the Steelers than the Raiders. HE definitely needs a strategy coach... just doesn't get it

If he would have kicked the FG the first time they went for it on 4th down that last 4th and 4 would have been to win the game. His bad decision earlier set this all up

Re: Gambit of streaming choices

It says NFL anywhere in the world except USA and China. I need to figure out if I am switching to YouTube TV. I still have DirecTV Former directv subscriber that switched to youtubetv because of Sunday Ticket. So far I like Youtubetv better. There are some cons (control of content recordings). The only channels I somewhat miss is MLB and History/Heroes. I do not miss having to call Directv every year or so to get my rate back to where it should be.

Re: Raiders sign QB Jimmy Garoppolo (Passed physical, Good to go for TC)

Not sure how the Jimmy G thread turned into the classic cola thread, bit do you guys remeber "jolt" cola? The original high caffeine energy drink. I think maybe 85, 86 somewhere in there. It was awful. Don't forget the Pop Shop.... Was the costco of soda back in the 70s. 4 or 6 oz bottles of all different flavors and colors.

The reporter ask a question that he already knows about and Josh responds to the question in a tell me about it fashion. Instead we are treated to talking heads like Chris Collinsworthless and his famous line which you hear in pretty much every game not just ours... "yeah, they are going to call that one against the Raiders every time".

Such garbage. Fixed it

Re: If you doubt the officiating bias against the Raiders....

False.

I have run all these numbers before. If you take the years that we were high in false starts, offsides and delay of game and bring it down to the average we still are way at the top. The majority of the years we were either at, just below or just above average. Keep in mind false starts are still a judgement call. Yes, they get them right the majority the time but they still do miss them. Holding on the other hand is extremely subjective. The data shown in the study makes it clear that the Raiders do not get flagged more with these types of calls, in fact, the Raiders are actually above average in the "discipline" type of calls.

Re: Game day Experience. First game attended since 1978

Final Thoughts

XtremeRaider was very kind to offer up the tickets and I was very lucky to be the first to hit him up. The seats were outstanding Thank you!!!!!

Room and Board - After getting the tickets the first thing we did is try to book a room. Motel 6 was $300 a night and anything 3 star or above was at least $450 a night. My wife and I enjoy Disneyland and have season passes so we decided to drive the 4 hours to Disneyland on Friday night, stay in a hotel in Anaheim for 2 nights and enjoy Disneyland all day Saturday. Had a very fun day at Disneyland along with 2 nights stay in a hotel for a lot less than we would have spent for a hotel in Vegas. We will probably do that again.

Travel - We woke up early on Sunday morning and left the Hotel in Anaheim at about 6:45AM. Starbucks for breakfast and then a gas station before we headed out to Vegas. Probably left Anaheim at about 7AM, maybe 7:15AM. The drive from Anaheim to Vegas was a very easy commute. Very little traffic the the 3.5 hour trek. We arrived at Mandalay Bay garage (we purchased parking passes for $35 as soon as we had tickets) at about 10:45AM. Parking Garage was fairly empty and had no problem finding a spot near the escalators as suggested by the parking lot attendant. A couple minutes later we were in the Mandalay Bay Casino with a whole lot of other Raider fans. Everyone was cordial and nice. Didn't hear a single bad thing said to the sprinkling of Texans fans. Made the short walk over the bridge and to the stadium (the walk took about 15 minutes). Exiting the stadium was a little harder, but not much. Walk back across the stadium took about 25 minutes and was very crowded, but a fun energetic crowd. We had a 5.5 hour drive home so we hit the bathroom in the casino and then went straight to the car (make sure you remember what floor you park your car on *hint 2C doesn't mean level 2 section C, lol). The commute from the Casino to the Freeway was typical of any sporting event but wasn't too bad. Once we got on the 15 towards California it was an easy commute, not as easy as going to Vegas, but still better than most commutes after a large event.

Stadium - Pictures don't do it justice. It is beautiful and fan friendly. Our first stop was the Raider image store (picked up a Ray Guy Jersey, still can't find Biletnikoff :( ). The store is huge and has everything!! Fans were well mannered and no pushing or shoving. Lines moved smoothly. Next we went to the seats... very comfortable and great sight lines for an ex coach. Could see everything. Food was right behind us. I did the Italian Sub Sandwich and my wife did chicken tenders and fries. We both loved our meals. We got the specialty donuts for dessert. Sound system was awesome.

Game Experience - It truly felt like an NFL game mixed with a Vegas show. The House band was great and there was always something to watch during commercial breaks. Video screens were very easy to see. Sound system was phenomenal. The home crowd still needs to learn when to be loud and when to be quiet. It was dead at the beginning of the game but picked up toward the end.

I would definitely do this again. It was fun from beginning to end!!!!

Re: Trade deadline.Buyers or sellers?

I would see what the market is for Jacobs.. He is a beast, but his value has never been higher, and I am not sure we will want to pay what he is asking for. Getting picks is better than letting him walk at the end of the year.

Re: Game day Experience. First game attended since 1978

Thanks!!! I am still undefeated when in the stadium
1978 - Raiders/Viking Week 16 - Raiders 27 - Viking 20
1982 - Raiders/Packers preseason - Raiders 24 - Packers 3
2022 - Raiders/Texans - Raiders Week 7 - Raiders 38 - Texans 20

Pictures and more thoughts when I have some downtime today...

Game day Experience. First game attended since 1978

Thought I would post some pics and thoughts since it was my first in stadium regular season game since 1978.

Drive from Anaheim was east. Left at 7:00 (intended to leave at 6:30, but I have a wife, so you know) got to the stadium before 11:00. Did some shopping at the Raider Image. Store is huge and incredible. Made some purchases, found our seats (incredible), got food, and settled in. Everything was easy. Lines moved quickly. So far it has been an awesome experience. Now we just need a win!!

Re: Raiders Vs Texans Tickets

Any hints on how to make this the best day possible for us? We found the cost of hotels in Las Vegas over the weekend to be outrageous. We actually will be staying at Disneyland on Saturday night so we just have a 4 hour drive on Sunday (will it be 4 hours on gameday?) We have purchased parking tickets as suggested by the stadium website.

Any other suggestions?

and Stabler Jersey, or Alzado Jersey, lol
