I am not saying we should trade for Baker, but I don't mind trading picks for top players (especially considering our track record in the draft). At least we know what we are getting are getting when we trade for a vet. I remember there was a ton of discussion about trading for Minkah Fitzpatrick (26 at the time) when he was on the Dolphins. Many balked at the price. I get sick to my stomach watching this kid play (BEAST) because we could have scored him before he reached his prime.

Thanks. There are 'draft value charts' as a starting point, but most are dated (Jimmy Johnson made these in the 90's) and when the known position is a high pick QB we have also seen those trades be drastically higher.

On paper the difference says 700 pts (1500 to 2200) which comes out around pick 26.

In theory our 2nd and 3rd might get us reasonably close, but than we are looking at the QB tax bumping that up.

Another second next year 'might' get it done, but I have a feeling pick three will have tons of competition - increasing that cost even more.

K state used to have a terrible football program when I was young,like the worst,but they have turned it around.basketball seems like they have been decent.I remember Mitch killing us in the big 8 Johnson is from my city. He went to Norview High at the same time my youngest son was at Maury ( Joe Smith, Kam Chancellor). He died on the court and was resuscitated. Florida's doctors wouldn't clear him even after the Mayo Clinic did, so he transferred.

I’ve always like Carr and still do. That said I have no issues with what transpired with the Raiders going in a different direction as sometimes change is good for both parties. I’m glad that there are more Raiders discussions now as this place got way to fixated on one player like nothing I have ever seen as Raiders talk took a backseat to Carr talk and I didn’t like Carr enough to make every discussion about him, The TURD thread is in Behind Enemy Lines.

When I was a freshman in high school, my drama teacher's sister was married to Hos. They were from New York. It was kind of wild seeing his picture with her sister on her desk. I did a double take when I saw it and asked her and sure enough it was him.

Ironically I think that was his last season with the Raiders in 1996.
