I’m at the point where I wish they got rid of roughing the passer (unless it’s an absolutely obvious violation) and got rid of instant replay. I get why they’re doing it, to make the call right. But I swear even instant replay gets it wrong a lot imo.

Never understood what is so great about the Bears job. Caleb Williams for all his talents seems to be a malcontent. Of the 5 rookie QBs we seen play this year - Williams was easily the least impressive. Maybe you could make a case he was better than Penix in the couple games we saw from Penix. Could also argue Williams had a substantially better roster than Daniels, nix or Maye.

Is it possible Williams is a reason NOT to go to Chicago? You’ve got a QB that has already been crowned and seems to have fully bought into his own hype in spite of the fact that he didn’t actually play particularly well…. And they’re shocked a coach might be reluctant to handcuff himself to that?

I agree. I wasn't a fan of bringing Gruden back. I'm just saying that Gruden was light years ahead of AP as a coach... and we would have won a bit more. Who knows.... if the shit that went down that got Gruden canned hadn't happened, we might be a playoff team.

I think the anger about his firing is that he seemed like a capable GM that wouldn’t wipe his ass with draft picks. Seemed like if given enough time, he’d hit on more 1sts and 2nds then he’d miss and we’d improve.

I also think there’s a little PTSD over the idea of another GM/HC package deal.

Just off the top of my head. - swept in the division
- everyone else in the afc west made the playoffs
- the broncos and chargers suddenly look years ahead of us

Honestly, this is why we need to draft a QB. Show some level of desire to move this team forward. The last 2 years at QB have been frustrating for us as fans because it feels like we’re not even trying.

You sign Jimmy G, and then Minshew… it feels like our ownership has no desire to win. We’re content finishing at the bottom of the league and selling over priced tourist tickets to away fans. Can only imagine that’s gonna wear on your star players.

So, I don’t see a guy who holds onto the ball long for no reason. To me, he has a horrible oline, which I see opposite of what you say above. He gets rid of the ball faster than pretty much all other college QB’s. While doing that, the decisions he makes are elite. Along with his accuracy. His decision making with the ball is deliberate. There’s good logical reasoning why he throws the ball. To me, I see that on film.

It’s now documented that he is diligent in film study &, works hard to actually fully understand the game in front of him. Tom Brady is his god father &, has been teaching him every single game that he plays.

Watch this clip starting at 10mins, till 15mins. There are stats very crucial to QB IQ that when put into context, will impress you. & Sanders, to me, actually passes the eye test along with these stats.

While it is objectively bad, perhaps I’m understating how much that’s contributing to some of the pressure he’s facing vs contributing to.

It’s not scientific but there does seem to be some security in the NFL blood lines thing. At least over the last 5 years - we’ve seen a bunch of kids of former great players enter the league and for the most part; they can all play.

Wasn't he like a QB that got more question marks while in college the longer he played? For some reason scouts/people talked us all out of liking him for one reason or another. Sorta reminds me a bit like Marino coming out. Oregon did a good job of hiding Herbert’s skillset. The scouting community seemed to have a hard time reconciling that this lab-built prospect played more like a game manager. They kind of misdiagnosed his lack of wow plays as being a result of his playstyle vs an offence that just prioritized quick throws.

Kiper has both Sanders and Ward in his top 10. Anyone acting like they are some sort of expert is silly. The rest of the season and combine and pro days its possible someone emerges on the Raiders board. Will & Mason Graham are legit top 5 talents. Some team picking a bit later in the top 10 will be more than happy to snatch them up because two teams are over drafting qbs at the top spots
Everyone always screams draft bpa until they hop on the pick a qb no matter what hype train I think im on board with the idea of Johnson or Graham early… choose from Milroe/nuss/Allar in the 2nd.

I don’t think there’s a big enough difference between the top 2 and the next 3 to warrant a top 3 pick. I also just don’t think any are particularly great prospects. Picking a QB top 3 doesn’t make them more likely to pan out if they’re not actually great prospect.

Yep. Now I'm at the point where I want us to win a few more games to take us out of the Sanders/Ward mediocre sweepstakes. Will Johnson is going to be absolute star in the NFL. Walking away with him in the 1st, maybe going QB in the 2nd in what might be a 2 year “tank for Arch” bid wouldn’t be the worst outcome.

Also if Bowers doesn’t win OROTY it’ll be a travesty. Some of the QBs have looked good… Brock is already the best TE in the league and there’s not even really a close 2nd. As long as he stays healthy, he’s going to shatter nearly every rookie TE record.

Also worth noting TE is a notorious slow starting position. Even most all time great TEs did not sniff brocks production in their rookie season. He’s already on a different level than everyone else in the league.

Anyone entertaining the idea that we proved we could beat KC but just didn’t want the W to affect our draft position? Not a conspiracy theorist but we got into position to kick a walk off FG… and instead ran another offensive play for no apparent reason… literally gave KC the ball on that play.

Or maybe we’re just that incompetent
