I didn’t want Ben Johnson solely because of Ben Johnson. I wanted him as it showed us getting the best candidate in the cycle.

I saw somebody say on twitter, maybe it was the lions losing to Washington and seeing the impact of Jayden Daniels against Goff what made he go Bears when the league thought he would come here

The roster is that much better, they got a whole extra win. Even though we had a stronger schedule based on SOS, had most our defence on IR and have no QB.

During those 26 seasons, the Lions were 154-256-2. There's a lot of ways to spin it, but he has a lot of experience working with very bad teams. And yet he’s now an assistant GM and will be a GM soon. It’s like we shouldn’t judge him on the outcomes when he was a basic scout and wasn’t making any actual decisions

I dont know if there is much difference from the end of the 1st through & into the 3rd My issue is, I don’t think any of them will be better than AOC let alone a franchise guy. So I would just keep building the roster up. My aim is to get a guy that you can at least develop into a back up and replace AOC when his rookie deal is out.

Remember: You normally get two types of Head Coaching candidates in the NFL:

1) Those who have never done it,

2) Those who have done it and eventually failed.

The "Successful NFL Head Coach who went out on top and is waiting for another opportunity to jump back in" is something that happens maybe once or twice a decade. The rest of the time, you're stuck with Door #1 or Door #2. It’s just unfortunate that we have 3 HCs that are successful and wanted another opportunity in our division!

Lance Newmark is the supposed guy Ben Johnson wants. Ex Lions scout, now in Washington.

I’ve seen people say we should offer Ben Johnson a ridiculous amount of money to get him here. I would hate that, I want Ben Johnson to pick us because of the plan and structure in place that the Tom’s have created.

My issue with Dart is he’s not shown anything on reading the field due to the system he’s in. It’s all 1 read or half field read if we’re lucky. I think that’s why the league and Scouts are a lot lower on him than fans.

With Coen as HC, could really leave the door open for Levis or another failed young QB with talent.

Only Eric Bieniemy has had a greater recent fall (i.e. from Next Great NFL Head Coach to fired from his college OC gig within two seasons). The medias obsession with him was crazy. Wouldn’t be surprised if he ends back up in KC.
