Re: Our Next Head Coach
We could have had Tom Brady, but Gruden stuck with his next door neighbor. I am not even worried about that anymore. I do agree that his personnel decisions were often horrible. But to suggest he would come back to the NFL and all the sudden he could tear a new asshole to the NFL just to get back at the commish is pretty farfetched to say the least. That argument suggests a person who was content to just do enough to keep their job. But all the sudden he has a desire to really coach to his max abilities. Who wants a clown like that anywhere near a team. I want the guy who has a desire to win at all costs. But, I do believe Gruden wanted to win at all costs but his coaching abilities coupled with god awful personnel decisions limited him, and that also happened when he got to make the personnel decisions in Tampa. When he was in Oakland, Davis was still pretty sharp and we all know he made most of the personnel decisions there. I think Gruden gets a bit of credit for Gannon but I do even buy that completely knowing what we know about Davis's desire to control things.
