Months ago, people treated me like I was on drugs for suggesting that AR-15 would be in the mix at our #7 pick and therefore worthy of discussion. The fact is I was dead ass right about his stock and now the possibility is on our doorstep. I really don't know what people aren't getting about this fit. They complain about the acquisition of Garoppolo for having reached his ceiling and his propensity to get injured. Well, he needs a successor and AR-15 needs time to make up for his lack of experience and to improve his mechanics so that can adjust to the recoil of that 50. cal attached to his right shoulder. It's actually a perfect fit. And while some people find him scary, he is actually a model citizen with top notch football character who is intelligent and humble. It’s not a perfect fit unless he can actually fix those very real and self-admitted inconsistencies. It is no given - not even remotely close to a given. It becomes even less of a perfect fit if the Raiders have to trade up to get him and lose valuable draft stock on a talent starved roster.

Likewise, save it with the race stuff. By all means, if there are posts claiming, or even hinting at people not wanting Richardson because he is black, or him being black “scares” them, quote them now. I don’t see every post on this forum so perhaps you can reference a few. If so, we should all back you 100% with that assessment. If not, save it.

So far the Raiders are reportedly going to trade up to 3 for a QB, take whatever QB is left at 7, draft the best defensive player available at 7, or trade back and take a DB.

Liked this interview. Seems humble enough to realize that his shortcomings at Florida would be his demise in the NFL. The question is, can he fix them? I like his attitude at least.

The full context is, 7 of those remaining 8 picks are day 3 picks, rounds 5-7. How many starters are we planning on nabbing in day 3? Trading away 4 of the top 5 picks when this team absolutely needs week 1 starters and talented difference makers in the draft sounds like a recipe for failure.

Even the #3 pick, "the most important position on the field", wouldn't be a starter. That's Jimmy Garoppolo. That leaves a single Day 1 or Day 2 pick for the Raiders to find a starting player. After that it's 5th round and beyond. No thank you.

Hollins signed HERE for 2 million last year. I like Mack Hollins, especially for what he brings as a ST player....but he is not as good of a WR as Jakobi Meyers. Not pounding the table for the deal, but Meyers is a pretty darn good receiver (when not throwing the ball to defenders, at least).

Yeah, I'm less emotional about this one than some. Getting older, injury concerns, and money that can be used to bolster a terrible defense. Waller is a good player when on the field, but there are some pretty good tight ends in this year's draft.
