after a long struggle with a terminal cancer that he defied to beat him for over 2 years, my friend who gave it his best conceded the battle to cancer, never admitting defeat.
Mel was old school, a man of family and his beloved island paradise. He loved every athlete who came from his island home and hoped to see Marcus throw a TD in silver and black. He built and designed his train set with loving detail, adding snow to its background having lived his life in a place without snow. He was respected and loved by family and a wide range of friends across the country. He got to see his team play in Oakland and hoped to see a game in Vegas, But ultimately, he never met a person who was not a friend, never said a bad word about anyone and loved deeply. He is survived by his bride, several children and many grandchildren. My heart is breaking right now for a man who I admired for his simply beautiful life. God bless you Mel, you have won your final victory as you join the great chorus in heaven as you join Mr Davis at a table reserved for great Raiders and the greatest of fans
