Some quick takeaways:

1. There is a new picture beside the word 'hell' in the dictionary and it is of the Rams’ announcers. It was like the game was merely some distant and unimportant backdrop for their need to interview everyone in the stadium. VERY annoying, as is they were going out of their way not to bring their viewers a football game.

2. # 4 on a Raider jersey has been rehabilitated and is looking damn fine now. I really don’t know what more a rookie can do in his first two preseason games at QB to have people actually take notice of him. Deadly accurate – when it counts, composed, can run for a first down, finishes in the red zone, yet to turn the ball over, and is playing in a new offensive scheme where I was told it would take a QB at least a year to get acclimated. O’Connell earned the number one backup QB job tonight. Josh will not come out and say it till the depth chart is announced and official, but O'Connell is the now the guy behind Jimmy.

3. Jimmy looked solid also. In his one drive, he went down the field and did what the starters should and scored a TD. Jimmy did deliver a pass for a completion while getting nailed. Nice to see a Raider QB stand tall in the pocket and deliver under pressure.

4. The D was not as impressive as they were against the 49ers but they only gave up one TD while producing one TD of their own. So, I guess, that is pretty damn good. If anything, these first two games have shown me that there is more depth to this defense than I initially thought.

5. The team suffered a couple of bonehead penalties but still looking far ahead of where I thought they would be at this time of year. Maybe the coaching staff have done a good job this year preparing the troops. Even with the many new faces, the team looks cohesive out there and on the same page.

6. I want Jacobs back in the fold this week. Give him some incentives and get him back into the locker room happy and motivated. The running game has been OK but would feel much better about the ground game if Jacobs was back with the team.

7. As far as I know, the players came out of this game healthy and that is always a good thing. Knock on wood.

I’ll wait a couple more days but I’ll def send another 40 to play in both if we are still trying to fill both leagues.

How is he related to you? His dad and I grew up together in a small Southern Indiana town. His Dad was the best player to come out of this town. Bryce comes back to this little town from time to time. Many of us followed him when he played at Ball State. If Bryce makes it to the NFL. He will be the first player that has ties to this town Madison,Indiana to ever make an NFL roster.
