Carr was not a beast. He has cleared 30 TD passes once in his career; 2015. Even his best year of 2016 from a W/L? He was at 28 when he got injured so maybe he ties that?

Over his career he averages 22.8 TD passes per (year including this year.)

Unfortunately AOC in all his games hasn't had a game even close to this performance. I still see AOC as a backup QB throughout his career. This Browning guy looks good. I'll keep an eye on him next week for sure..

as Aikman mentioned tonight, that Browning kid looked like a 10 year veteran tonight... We need AOC to show out and start performing like a starter. I was talking about Browning and even complemented him on this one game. I'm not sure where your hatred for AOC is coming from but since you feel the need to kick dirt on him let's have at it.

Great game by Browning, his best ever after entering the league as an UDFA back in 2019. 32/37 354 yards (some in OT) 1 TD compared to the week before at home against the steelers were he was 19/26 227 yards 1 TD and 1 INT. That week he was only able to put 10 points on the board for his team.

It is important that I point out that Browning as been in the league since 2019 so he has at a minimum had sometime under center and is no longer a rookie so he has a grasp of what is going on along with the speed of the game after 4 1/2 years now. And it would be remiss of me not to mention that he was the back up on the bengals that was not only better than our team but was 12-4 last year.

And of course there is the matter of he has been on the Bengals and learning there system since September of 2021. So you don't have to do math that means he has spent 2 and a half seasons in Cincinnati on one of the better teams in the league learning the playbook and the scheme with no changes in either the HC or OC or playbook before finally be called on.

Now let's compare his situation to Adian's. As you supposedly know Adian is a rookie who spent his offseason preparing for the draft not immersed in our playbook/scheme like Jake had been the two years previously and during this offseason . Don't know if you noticed or not but O'Connell, unlike Browning, was thrust into the season to start after only 3 games then proceeded to lose his HC and OC. At which point his new OC who has never been an OC, unlike Browning on his team, was forced to learn on the fly and cut down what is common knowledge, one of the harder playbooks to grasp in the NFL.

This was done to help his rookie quarterback out. In Adian's 5 starts he has had to face the chiefs, dolphins and jets. All 3 of which are in the top 10 in defense in all of football. Compare that to Jakes 2 starts which is the steelers and Jags both of which are in the bottom 10 in the league in defense. It's not just your complete short sightedness I find troubling, but every bit as curious of your claim that when you see Adian all you see is a back up. Well, what has Jake been for 4 1/2 years now?

From my side of the screen it's a scary thought that here is somebody who supposedly watches football and makes these outlandish and completely misguided comparisons. Might want to consider curling instead. That probably your game speed...

Not to be out done, #20 for the Bengals just had to fall on the ball and it would have been game. Instead he kicked it to the Jacksonville guy!

Anyway, the Carr lead saints are now 5-7 in that creampuff division. He got all the "weapons", the defense, the whole 9 yards and he still can't get it done.

In stark contrast, we fired our GM, HC and OC and have had 3 quarterback changes with a much tougher schedule and division and we are 5-7.

While I like the excellent article by TES and have linked it personally to many places out on the web I want to see what we are seeing now long term not just one year. Remember, during the offseason Mark in an interview stated the 3 things he looked for in a game and one of them was he "watched the officiating". I always took that as code for a threat against the NFL publicly .

No way no how when he meets with the other owners and Rodger that he doesn't say anything about the bias officiating. You know he does and his comment in that interview was him firing a shot across their bow publicly. Mark has played the good soldier from day one after Al passed away. I'm sure he was furious at how the vote went down for L.A. which he had every right to be mad (bias again). He has made them tons of money moving the team to Las Vegas and even gone as far as to point out to the other owners that he is a good guy and not like his father (which he is).

I like to think he is in their face about the bias that everyone and there mother sees and the simpletons in the press refuse to write about and/or are to stupid to think it's just some gigantic coincidence. I like to think that it has worked and now we are after 63 years finally going to see a, pardon the pun, a level playing field. As for the article by TES being the reason for this I would also like to think it certainly hasn't hurt and I still link it to this day and hope others here will as well.

I am still uncertain about AP. I do think he has much to learn moving forward. I will wait to see how the Raiders finish the season before making a decision either way.

The Raiders need to find an OC this offseason. Bo could be retained as a QB coach but he definitely appears over his head right now calling plays.

As for AO4, I will wait to see how the last leg of games plays out before making any judgement either way in regards to his prospects moving forward. If someone were to tell me that a rookie QB would come into the league and get 3rd string reps all offseason, be designated as the emergency backup for the season, but then take over the starting job but under a new OC who has never called a game in his life and under a rookie HC....I would suggest that possibly that QB is climbing an uphill battle and that one should consider context when making an evaluation.

I have seen how top tier QBs in this league have looked against the Chiefs D. That D has given up only 170.8 yards a game through the air before the Raider game. If someone told me that a rookie QB would throw for almost 250 yards, 1 TD and no INTs, I would be impressed. And if someone told me he would be accomplishing that with a rookie OC who really did not shine in that game and a rookie HC who could have managed that game better...well, I would be more impressed. Additionally, Jacobs had 63 yards rushing on one play and 47 the rest of the game. Our rushing attack has been the polar opposite of last year. It's hard enough to win games in this league when you can't run the ball.

I think everyone would trade away draft picks to move up to get the franchise QB if they KNEW he would be that guy. Every team who does not have that QB would do it IF they knew the guy they were drafting would turn out to the the guy.

But, fact is, when you trade away draft capital to get that that pick, you are in actuality simply trading up to get the 'chance' that he may be that guy. Many teams have gone there (SF comes to mind) and have come away shaking their heads.

If it were as easy as simply trading up, to get a franchise QB, hell, most teams would have one by now. But, the fact is that for every guy that works out, several do not.

For those looking at Stroud...well, we should keep in mind that what he is doing in his rookie year in the league has never been done before. Guys like that are rare.

I am not saying that the Raiders should never move up to get their QB. But if they end up trading away three first round picks to get that guy, let's hope they get their guy, because if they whiff, the Raiders will not be in a position to get that guy for some time and may find that the future draft picks traded away...may become really PREMIUM picks to boot.

When SF made the move, they had already built their team and their first round picks were not as important to them as they were to other teams. Luckily they had a guy in the wings from the 7th round to fall back on.

I have no problem with the Raiders rolling the dice, but when you include several first round picks in that roll of the dice, you better be right.
Also, that guy you might really want....the team in that position may really want him also and nothing you offer will get it done.

Jacobs had a league leading 1600 rushing yards last year and Carr was sacked only 27 times. He played a game last year where he couldn't move the ball against the team he plays for now past the 50 yard line but his back up came in and managed to do that difficult task on his first try.

It’s not the good throws any mid QB will make them it was all the bad things he did that are the problem the 2 INT’s in the 4th really worry me A couple of things... so you don't look at the good throws? And no, not "any" mid QB can make them or does. We just got rid of one who we watched for the last 9 years not be able to make them and another is on the bench because our HC sees he can't make them.

The majority of his throws were right on target and right on time. And when I say right on target we are talking throws that hit the WR right in the numbers or they may have had to reach up a time or two without leaping for it. He had 7 or 8 misses(?) that were all on him. 2 of which were bad interceptions, 1 of which was a horrible backwards pass and the one were he made the bonehead decision of throwing it up for grabs on 4th down. However, let's keep in mind that once again our offensive line couldn't block anybody on that play. What he needs to learn from that play is to just eat the ball because it's not his fault.

On the last drive he missed Adams badly but then came back and hit him with a beautiful 40 yard strike. It's also important not to lose sight of the fact he had played up to that point 3 and half games worth of football. The team he faced was one of the best teams in football coming off there bye. We rushed for 36 yards in the game he was sacked twice, hit and pressured many others because our OL stinks. Now in 4 and a half games he has been sacked 12 times and who knows how many other times he has been pressured.

He is in the middle of a 3 game span where he is facing/faced one of the best defenses in all of football in the jets, on the road in Miami against the bye week dolphins were we only rushed for 36 yards and now the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs who have the 4th ranked defense in the NFL. And just so we are clear here, he didn't make just one good throw. Wasn't counting but would bet out of all his 24 completions 20 or so, give or take a couple, were pinpoint right on time right on target.

I can see for sure some of them should have been caught but for Aikman to say on that last throw which was a high bullet that was thrown at the end to #84. He had to leap way up in the air 30 yards down field in the rain with a DB draped all over him is homerism at it's worst. He is saying without directly saying it's all the wide receivers fault and none of it is Mahomes. No way he was going to make that catch at the end.
