A drafted safety converted to linebacker should be an ace in coverage & a money player against tight ends yet he isn't... Shouldn't be an every down starter imo. Sauce is the only part that I am not 100% behind, the sauce is done too heavy. We rarely eat frozen pizza but keep one on hand for a drunken emergency. We had a screaming Sicilian last night and it was really good. Quite surprised

For the most part, agreed. I will say, I like Nesta-Jade Silvera tho. He popped a few times. He showed strength, some quickness &, nimbleness. He was the only DT that looked to be showing something. Imo, he actually had a good game. Not every single play but overall, yes. He seemed to do well last preseason too, then got placed on the practice squad, then got cut from the team at one point, then brought back... not sure what is his situation.

It's Getsy that I don't trust. Quarterbacks don't fare well under him. Justin Fields was a first round pick. And yet he was used as a wildcat runner instead of a quarterback. O'Connell is a super accurate quarterback with little mobility. But he can still become elite with the right coach. Wait wasn't Rodgers a 2x MVP with Getsy as his passing game coordinator?
So maybe it's not all qbs that don't farewell, maybe just ones that suck. Didn't they eat our lunch under getsy with a back up qb?

Our terrible track record with “low character” guys extends well beyond Ruggs also (AB, arnette, Bowden, Chandler jones, etc…). We have had a tendency of bringing out the craziest versions of our players.

Speaking for myself, I felt Carter would’ve been a disaster here even knowing he’s an insanely good DT. Ruggs was actually known as a good character.

Signal, if the Raiders had 53 blue chip/elite players. The Raiders avg player rating across the board, would be elite. Attyla was saying that he would hope that would be the case for the Raiders. So Bowers, while being elite is, what the Raiders avg would be in that scenario. By no means would he be viewed as an avg player. Nor by the league. He would still have completely fulfilled his potential. Which is that of an elite player.

I think, that’s what he was getting at. Correct me if I’m wrong, Attyla :beer: common sense says yes, exactly that. If Bowers is destined to be the second best player on this team, that says every player under that rating is incrementally worse. If we got 51 players who are better than Bowers and you put the bell curve on the team, Bowers would rate as the worst player on the team. Not a bad player nor did I suggest that. If you have a team of All Pro's, someone is going to be top and someone is going to be bottom. That does not take away from the talent, just the internal ranking. It does not change his talent at all or lowers him.

In signal's example, you can view Kelsey as the second best player on that team, and I agree. On pretty much any team he would rank there or the best player. But I would bet dollars to donuts that if the Chiefs could get Adams they would in a heartbeat. Kelsey, arguably, becomes the third best player on that team. If they could get Miles Garrett, Kelsey falls to fourth...and on and on. And that takes nothing away from Kelsey.

Load up our talent level and the ranking, which ultimately means nothing really, goes down. And that does nothing but make us better overall.

And that makes no sense. Is Kelce an average player on KC ? Is Kittle an average player on SF? (compared to their respective teammates) It would be silly to say so.

P.S. In any world where Bowers is considered an 'average' Raider moving forward would definitely signal that he did not fulfill his potential.

Ideally, Bowers turns into something special, not simply compared to his teammates, but compared to the entire fucking league.

And yes, the potential is there for this much more pleasing scenario than he will be average "compared to his teammates." you are missing the point I attempted to make. My point, perhaps poorly worded, suggests that if all the talent we acquire is blue chip (impossible I am aware) then grading on the Bell Curve he could fall to the mid on the scale.
