Re: Updated Draft Order.....

HA.....

You sir..... nor anyone else......will ever get me off that position.

My only hope is that those of you that hate may someday see the light.....

I won't hold my breath.

 I actually happen to know some of these girls. They all say they would find you much more attractive if you could just find a way to move on from Gruden.

Since search is meh here I think the next step is screen shots of posts because literally it’s a case of “just make up what I think people say.”

Of course when presented with his own posts he’s likely to deny it ever happened. Oh wait that has already happened.

Re: The Official Bye Week thread

"I played with him in Oakland, so I know when you get around him, he gets rattled," Irvin said about Carr during a post-victory chat with Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. "He’s a hell of a player, but we knew if we got around him, we could rattle him a little bit. " Whenever the going gets tough, Carr folds like a cheap shirt. He is the very antithesis of what we would consider 'beast.'

A beast does not throw it away on 4th down. A beast does not slide down though there be no defender within 15 yards of him. A beast does not fumble the ball into the endzone, not once but twice. A beast does not fumble the ball to break his fall. A beast does not go directly into the fetal position whenever there is (imagined) pressure.

A beast is the type of player who rises to the occasion whenever things go awry. A beast takes responsibility for his mistakes and makes others accountable for theirs. A beast earns the respect of his fellow comrades by doing what it takes and never and I mean never shifts blame by habitually pointing to others when he fucks up.

Stating Carr is a beast is akin to saying: the Shih Tzu is a dangerous killer.

Re: Tom Brady (Raiders Minority Owner)

Why? What is your reason for not wanting the guy around? Is it because he is a winner, having beaten the shit out of us on a number of occasions? Who's fault is that? Not his. Blame our various owners for not fielding teams worthy of beating the mediocre teams let alone the best. Blame Gruden for going ultra conservative in that game. Blame The Old Man for all those bad teams and bad coaches he trotted out there. Blame The Turnip for all his shit decisions. I was not a 9er fan but admired Joe Cool for his skills and toughness. I was not a Bears fan but Buddy's defense was a terror to watch. I can see greatness in others and stop and say, wow, that is great. I wish we had greatness. We were great for a drink of water but not great enough. Brady was great enough Brady = Goat
Gruden = Fucking worthless.

I can’t see anything in Brady’s history that indicates he’d be any good at the things that are required to successfully operate and build an NFL team, I can’t see anything that says he couldn’t either. Greatness on the field of play, in any pro sport that I follow, doesn’t seem to have a high degree of correlation with success in management after. I do agree that his name could possibly help attract others, so that’s a positive, but as far as him actually making decisions, who knows? What do we see in Mark Davis’ history? Just my opinion, but anything would be better than expecting our boiled-chicken failson owner finally learning how to build a winner.

Re: College football weekly thread 2023

Well if you just watched the Bama game you just saw the 2 best collage teams go at it! And neither of their QB's are in the draft? He’s probably just listing his Top 5, but your comment did bring the memory of the 2021 National Championship. That one had an undefeated Alabama led by Mac Jones beating Ohio State led by Justin Fields 52 to 24.

Again, that’s “Mac Jones”. National Championship winning QB of the undefeated Alabama Crimson Tide.

…Mac Jones…

Re: McDaniels vs Ziegler

So Ziegler is perfect and McDaniels is a complete jackass according to Hondo.

Well Ziegler knew McDaniels since college and worked with him in the NFL since 2010.

If he really cared about his GM career and McDaniels succeeding as a HC, he would have not allowed McDaniels to make all those decisions he was against.

I wouldn't have traded Mack, I would've got Brady instead of that motherfucker, I wouldn't have hired McDaniels or signed Garoppolo too and not after the fact either. But no one is going to give me an NFL GM job.

Fuck Ziegler! kick rocks and enjoy the money you got from Davis that you didn’t earn and deserve fucking clown.

Re: David Shaw (former Stanford coach) for the Raiders?

I don't want a head coach in charge of the football world - I want a GM. It's part of the reason I don't want Harbaugh. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I don't think we're hiring Harbaugh. Last dynamic duo hired went in the order of HC then GM.....

How about we hire a head of Football Operations...followed by a GM...and then a HC....

Seems logical.

Re: David Shaw (former Stanford coach) for the Raiders?

I think it's too early to get too wrapped up in head coaching candidates. I want the focus to be on the GM position. I don't know much about Shaw really - I know he was a hot name for years and that's likely cooled off with losing seasons, but I cannot remember ever watching a game where he was the head coach. It seems that the current environment in CFB may just preclude Stanford from having any sustained success again.

Re: David Shaw (former Stanford coach) for the Raiders?

He would be a great hire. He did more with less at Stanford than should have been possible. I would feel fortunate to get him.

Of course people on this board will hate him, but to me that enhances his credentials. Don't hate him....He may even be as you say....a great hire.... Would not bitch and moan like I did with mcturd if hired...

Re: David Shaw (former Stanford coach) for the Raiders?

Name a career College Coach who had success in the NFL in the last 20 25 years ?

You can’t! You post like you don't know his resume....so let me enlighten you......If you care to be educated.....

Shaw began a nine-year run as an NFL assistant coach with stints for the Philadelphia Eagles, Oakland Raiders, and Baltimore Ravens.

As the Raiders' quality control from 1998 to 2000 and quarterbacks coach in 2001, the team won two consecutive AFC West titles and completed a 10–6 regular season.

Shaw was the quarterbacks coach for the Baltimore Ravens from 2002 to 2004 and wide receivers coach for the Ravens from 2002 to 2005, with the 2003 team finishing with a 10–6 regular season mark and winning the AFC North. In 2005, Shaw coached wide receivers Derrick Mason to a Ravens record of 86 receptions and 1,073 receiving yards (the third-highest Baltimore record) and Mark Clayton to a Ravens rookie record of 44 receptions for 471 yards.

So it wouldn't be like he is new to the NFL.....

Re: Antonio Pierce Interim HC

I don't think the roster is all that bad. We need O-line, DT and another OLB, and some depth at CB.

The QB situation is definitely fluid, but AGAIN, we have a rookie that's been pretty solid when looked at from a realistic perspective. Our interior O-line is really bad. Opposing defenses are able to get a constant push up the middle. There's nothing worse for a QB and running game than that. And it's more effective to disrupting the game than having great edge rushers because rushing from the edge takes longer.

We need a new OC. I can't be upset with Bo because not only is he extremely green, he was also suddenly thrown into the job with a rookie QB. Still, even if we manage to continue to look respectable and win a few more games, we'll definitely need to find a better and more experienced playcaller in the offseason.

We were competitive against two of the best teams in the AFC in the last two weeks. Yeah, we lost, but the team has been disciplined and played hard while operating under some pretty fucking adverse circumstances.

If it all falls apart, then fine, but right now this doesn't look like a team that's falling apart.

Re: Maxx Crosby is Elite

Crosby is the face of the franchise and I could not be happier he is a Raider. What he brings to this team on and off the field is invaluable at this point.

As to whether he should play or not...I will leave that to those with the expertise and well...the actual familiarity with what is going on.

Re: The Official Bye Week thread

I am still uncertain about AP. I do think he has much to learn moving forward. I will wait to see how the Raiders finish the season before making a decision either way.

The Raiders need to find an OC this offseason. Bo could be retained as a QB coach but he definitely appears over his head right now calling plays.

As for AO4, I will wait to see how the last leg of games plays out before making any judgement either way in regards to his prospects moving forward. If someone were to tell me that a rookie QB would come into the league and get 3rd string reps all offseason, be designated as the emergency backup for the season, but then take over the starting job but under a new OC who has never called a game in his life and under a rookie HC....I would suggest that possibly that QB is climbing an uphill battle and that one should consider context when making an evaluation.

I have seen how top tier QBs in this league have looked against the Chiefs D. That D has given up only 170.8 yards a game through the air before the Raider game. If someone told me that a rookie QB would throw for almost 250 yards, 1 TD and no INTs, I would be impressed. And if someone told me he would be accomplishing that with a rookie OC who really did not shine in that game and a rookie HC who could have managed that game better...well, I would be more impressed.

Re: Marcus Peters expected to be released (Official Pg 2)

To go from a rah rah "players" coach to a disciplinarian doesn't sit right with me. Especially when you're as terrible at making coaching decisions as AP is. You need to be both. You cannot simply be a cheerleader. Yes, good coaches will celebrate outstanding efforts and give his players the credit when they are due. But, a good coach also will not tolerate a lack of effort. And yes, at times he needs to be ruthless at times getting rid of those that are not carrying their weight.

Celebrating outstanding effort and being ruthless against those who are not bringing it is not a contradiction.

Re: What Would AOC Have To Do To Convince You to Not Draft a QB this Offseason?

It should be noted that before this game was played, the Chiefs have given up an average of 170.8 yards a game through the air. Their secondary has been very stingy all year not allowing for much success through the air.

So, while AO4's 248 yards is rather pedestrian, it is a lot more than what the Chiefs usually give up. AO4 accomplished this with highly questionable play calling.

Re: Andy Dalton after a trip to Sephora on Groundhog Day (Carr thread)

Here's some messages from a Saints board. Wonder who it could be:

Defense gives up 229 rushing yards to a rookie RB and mediocre QB and ya'll blaming Carr, as usual. Clown world. I don't see you whining about Taysom fumbling the ball inside the 10 yard line. Or Perry running the wrong route on a potential TD.
Nope, it's all Carr.

Re: What Would AOC Have To Do To Convince You to Not Draft a QB this Offseason?

I'll get ate for this but I'd like to see Jimmy G in for a game under this wizard we have called AP, JG isn't great on long throws, neither is AOC, yes keep trying and the odd one will land and AOC is getting alot of slants and short throws, something I feel JG is better at and has better awareness and although crippled at times has better movement. If JMD was the issue all along then maybe JG wasn't, why does he get tarred with the same brush?

Some might say 'sure he can't beat out AOC or he would be out there', I think that it would be career suicide within the organization if he was to drop AOC bar he really screws up and he is currently 3td/6int so he has to have a short leash at this point (Russel only had 23 in 31 games). People were mad that JMD didn't target Adams enough, now people are calling for Adams to NOT be targeted as much as he has been. and JG and Meyers were a great duo at times.

I'd let Adams off be damned as he don't have a competent QB to serve him and lets get some value for him. Jimmy is the one that is cooked already so no sense eating you and it isn't even close to being about just the long ball.

He is almost pushing the ball like a shot put a lot of times even on short stuff.

He also just randomly goes field blind and just throws to the other team and is still top 10 on tossing picks.

Most importantly, he has zero upside or reasonable use.
Even if reverts to prime Jimmy, all you have is a very fragile and very low end starter anyway.

Let the rookie get all he can eat on the off chance he takes off or at least get him developed into a good, cheap, young back up if we can to both have one and to be legitimate competition for a draft pick.

Crapollalo was an ill advised pick up at all, not something that we need to double down on.
