-Palo Mao needs to play more. He made some sleeper plays on those last series.

-JPJ can't get on the OL fast enough.

No, they are following the law. HIPAA laws are very specific. Disclosure is a violation and can result in fines and lawsuits. And there are many illnesses that can last weeks and even months. It is actually exactly a "life happens" situation. I don't know what bug he has but the NFL does have to follow HIPAA regulations. Righttttt. yeah, The Oline was so bad, there was constant pressure on the pocket all game, if AOC was playing quarterback he would’ve gotten destroyed, and we would’ve seen multiple sacks and AOC fumbles.. i’m sure the state of this Oline is a big part of the reason why Minschew was chosen over AOC… the oline is that bad.. parham is getting beat, James is getting beat, they’re all getting beat, even Kolton was getting beat, but I guess that’s OK since it’s to an elite pass rusher… it should get better against teams that don’t have two great pass rushers… but if we can’t run the ball effectively, we’re fucked Mack is strong af. I mean he is seriously strong.

If you had to point a finger at one thing as the biggest culprit in the Raiders first loss it would be the OL.

Yes, if you never go deep and stretch the field, a defense will begin to lean in to attempt to take away the short passing game and in turn smother the run game. We have seen this before and it looks like it is back. Not impressed with the game plan at all.

In a way I am not surprised the offense looked a tad out of sync but am disappointed that they did not at least attempt to stretch the D from time to time and while I was worried about the OL, expected them to be a tad better in both the run game and pass protection. The OL has a long way to go to be average.

My optimism for this edition of the Raiders has been fading. I really don’t know how the Raiders can win many games unless somehow and in some way the OL transforms from a weak unit into a strong one in the course of a couple of months.

P.S. And yes, I can not think of one reasonable excuse for why AP decided to punt the ball away. It was akin to waving a white flag and you could see its impact on the players on both teams from that point on. It was a bonehead decision.

Like Sanjit I also though AP should have challenged the Tre Tucker spot before the 4th down fail. I hope a reporter asks why...

With regards to punting. Someone else said it. If you don't have any faith in making a yard what made AP think they could drive the field and score a TD if the D stopped them....

Also, I get its 30 yards difference but if AP thought he had this great D. Go for it. If they fail the LA gets the ball at the 40. Stop them on a three and out...

He’s a physical giant. I don’t know why the coaches don’t have him get his arms UP and jump / swat at balls every pass play he’s in for? I don’t recall seeing him ever try that.
