- We didn't lose out on Vrabel. Mark nixed that idea some time before the pats appointed him. Wanted to create a Raiders way instead of another Pats west. Hondo gives Mark props for doing this.
- Hondo doesn't think we will appoint a HC until the Lions are out of the playoffs. He gave a pointed look when he said it. Sounds like he's fairly sure Johnson is going to get it.
- If that happens then keep an eye out on a possible trade for Hooker from the Lions. Already knows Johnsons system and has spent some time learning to be an NFL qb under Goff.
- Many senior NFL executives do not think there is a single qb worthy of a top 15 pick in this year's draft.
- Jerry Jones is giving off late era Al Davis vibes. He's swinging hard to win it again but not in a good or sustainable way.
- Rob Leonard (our Dline coach) should be given the likely open DC position by the incoming HC. He's done great work this season and is highly respected by players and coaching staff alike.

Hondo Carpenter stated he gets the feeling the Raiders prefer an experienced head coach. From the interview lists I've seen, that narrows it down to Saleh & Carroll. Take it for what it's worth.

I personally think it's either Johnson, Monkin, or Coen. I think Brady has a preference for an offensive minded guy.

Unless there is a dark horse out there. Maybe a Bill Brady (doubtful), or Tomlin is let go in Pittsburgh (very doubtful). I don’t trust Hondo at all. I think that’s what Hondo prefers. He never “breaks” anything until after it happens.

Telesco had a good draft. It was his first. You honestly think every player can go? Boweres, JPJ, Glaze, Maxx..... and that's just the obvious good players. He shouldn't have a at least a couple of years to see what he could build? I just don't agree with that. Was Telesco supposed to build a SB winning team in his first year? Bowers and JPJ were givens. Glaze is a nice find. What other rookies made any impact?

I wouldn't mind that one bit because it prevents us from reaching for the "top" QBs in this draft and allows us to focus on getting BPA outside of the TE position.

I want O-line in the worst way, but BPA at any position except the one mentioned above would be best. Agreed but I’d really like Graham to fall to us. I’d take a shot at Will Howard later in the draft.

I thought with the qb he got at Colorado he would stay a few more years. One of those RB’s in the draft helps as well. I like Johnson and Singleton, as they’re more 2nd/3rd round guys, whereas Jeanty in a 1st rounder. Agree on Higgins and smith. I’ll take skittleboy and a fast shifty type of back in the draft.

Its a great talking point like they were saying yesterday. However the foolish mouthpieces did not talk about their year 2 performances.

Johnson from 1 win to 7.
Belechik from 5 to 9.
Walsh from 2 to 6.
Campbell from 3 to 9.


AP went from 5 (granted he was not HC for an entire season in year one) to 4 (and 2 of those victories were gifted). Team took a down swing. Nobody was expecting miracles, but an uptick should be needed (which he failed) to keep his job. I understand. I’m playing devils advocate. I’m fine with letting him go. I can see an argument both ways. You have to take injuries into account. We lost a lot of players. Also our #1 receiver. Getsy was a miserable failure. At least he didnt keep him all season. We couldn’t run the ball at all and that’s clearly on the line.

I can see an argument to keep and one to replace but whoever replaces him should get 3 years. We can’t keep starting over every time a season goes sideways. It hasn’t worked for 20+ years.
