We have a rover and a helicopter now on Mars.......Attyla » Thu Feb 18, 2021 1:40 pm
this is the stuff that we could not imagine when I was a kid. I remember my dad helping design parts of the rover, and he said he thought in his lifetime they would go back and retrieve one or more of them. Sadly, it was not to be. All his kids (who were old enough) got to see a launch and I got to hang out in Houston and met many of the astronauts. Still have a couple of the autographs laying around somewhere. I was at the Apollo 15 launch, and remember it very clearly.Sold My Soul » Thu Feb 18, 2021 4:01 pm

Man, the advances have been amazing. This is very exciting for an old school Nasa brat.

I am not certain I will live to see man step onto the surface of another body in the sky. I do know that if you get that chance, you need to remember it clearly. Watching them walk on the moon and talk to us from there was amazing. Our future may not be in space, but our dreams lie there. I am envious of the next generation who get the chance to see man on mars.Sold My Soul wrote Thu Feb 18, 2021 4:08 pm:Yeah buddy. NASA took a double hit from congress defunding and it's failures.
That's why I was so excited for this.....
China landed one a few days ago, but they are where we were with our last rovers.
We have microphones on Mars........ going to hear it to go along with the photos.
Was there life on Mars? Why shouldn't there be. In a billion years give or take.a few mil............Earth will be like Mars is now.
