This should be our best draft class since 2014. And PJ Hall will be special. Worrying about his small school background is quickly becoming a non issue. He is a freak athlete that explodes off the line and can move grown men with easy. This is exactly the type of player Mack needs to elevate his game. PJ is made for Gunthers D.mranquales » Sat Aug 18, 2018 6:00 pm
I believe it was Hall that drew a double team on the Mo Hurst sack. Hall has been solid thus far, with Mack on the edge it will be deadly because Hall will beat his one-on-one 8/10 times.raiders93 » Sat Aug 18, 2018 6:04 pm
While you may be jumping the gun a bit based on one preseason game I will definitely concur he was quite impressive. Looked very explosive and disruptive and seemed to dominate his one-on-one matchups. I’m hopefully optimistic without question and I would definitely agree if he can play this way consistently against starters I think Mack (whenever mgmt removes their heads from their ass and signs him) is in store for a big season if pj turns into a force.Racknel wrote Sat Aug 18, 2018 5:58 pm:This should be our best draft class since 2014. The Raiders went out and drafted some athletes. That was the idea. The key is to nurture raw talent by teaching technique and developing skills that pertain to the positions played. We have several intriguing projects that could turn into great football players. And yes, I agree that Hall is a bit on the special side. I am very excited about this draft class...vegas34 » Sat Aug 18, 2018 8:25 pm
PJ plays on the opposing side of the LOS. I didn’t see him get moved backwards at all today. Several plays for positive yards the back cut back but PJ was 2 yards into their backfield. Hester was not getting penetration at all. PJ and Ellis together will be a good combo to stop the run. PJ and Hurst against the pass. Although I was impressed by Hurst in the run game too.RunOverByHubbard » Sat Aug 18, 2018 8:36 pm
This^^. This is what the Seahawks did to reach their pinnacle. Good deep scouting and lots of roster turnover combined with teaching them how to win at this level. It could happen here.Sea of Hands wrote Sat Aug 18, 2018 6:33 pm:The Raiders went out and drafted some athletes. That was the idea. lets no crown anyone after two preseason games lol. We overhype hard here lol. He might be special but lets give it some time lol.Skullz » Sun Aug 19, 2018 1:03 am
Not overhyped. Hurst and hall are men amongst boys. I didn’t even need to watch these game to tell ya that. Go key on them, no one is crowning anything. They deserve the respect they are getting but of course they better keep pushin. Do we think they won’t? These kids seem to have pretty good heads on their shoulders. And a chip to boot. The AzzAzzin wrote Sun Aug 19, 2018 12:44 am:lets no crown anyone after two preseason games lol. We overhype hard here lol. He might be special but lets give it some time lol.

Hurst & Hall seem to benefit from each other as finally we have a bit of rotation at DT which enable them to stay fresh for longer we can develop them better that way that will help Vanderdoes aswell, Hester hasnt impressed me i could see him laiong his spot once Vanderdoes get back from injury.Sloth_Fratelli » Sun Aug 19, 2018 4:04 am
The Al Davis way. If this is the way Gruden can do drafts then he needs his own guy in here.Sea of Hands wrote Sat Aug 18, 2018 6:33 pm:The Raiders went out and drafted some athletes. Given all of the reports from camp and his performance in his first two preseason games...what is not to like? Seems to me that all Hal has done is go about his business demonstrating why he completely dominated at a small college.AutumnWind32 » Sun Aug 19, 2018 6:49 am
Hall legitimately has one of the quickest first steps I’ve ever seen. My one concern about him and Hurst is they both get up field so fast they open big run lanes.
