Has he lived up to the hype? No. Is he a great run defender? Yes. Can he add juice to the pass rush yes. Can he generate a rush from inside if moved there at times on 3rd downs? I think so.

If not, anyone like Buckner if he makes FA?

KC.

He is a good defensive player and we have a shit ton of money to spend with pretty much our entire offense back.

So in short, yes.

With Russ paid, why wouldn't the Hawks franchise tag him?

Seattle will re-sign him. He is their best, and at times, their only pass rusher.

But if not, this would be a great offseason addition!

I’d take Clowney and Buckner. They both have cred.

The bummer part is he will probably get north of 20 mil per season and he’s never had double digit sacks. That being said, it’s FA and you have to overspend usually for the top level guys. Can’t sit on our hands this offseason. We are a few players away from being SB contenders IMO.

What people don't know is Clowney will be seeking a Mack or Donald like contract. Why do you think The Texans were not able to resign him? He had a great game but it clearly is not elite for a season or season after season. I would stay away from him and pay people who want to be here.

I'd love him on the Raiders but he'll be way too much, no?

I'd like to have him and buckner both too! We can dream can't we?

Don't forget the draft usually brings trades for a good player or two.

When clowney is healthy and motivated he is really damn good. In the short term I think he’ll be great, but in the medium to long term I worry a little about his motivation, and a lot about his health. That makes the kind of contract he’ll get a massive risk.

We have to inquire, but ultimately I think we should bow out if the money is what I think it will be. We’re not a team with a short window, so I think we should add a couple of guys for that kind of money.
