This indicates he knows and acknowledged his flaws and works on them. He arguably had his best year of his career last season w/ no help from the other side of the ball. And here we all thought all of his free time was taken up by video games.

Please remember who is calling the plays and their style.

I'm sure of this can be put on Carr but not majority IMO.

You hear carr say Kil kill Kill many times. HE is checking to a second play. He also has the ball in his hands EVERY offensive play. Im not saying he should be Bret Farve and just pull stuff out of thin air, but he is RESPONSIBLE for EVERYTHING that happens with the offense while they are on the field. Its why QBs are the highest paid in the NFL. After years, he HAS to understand if he plays to the conservative nature on the HC, given our defense, we will lose more offten than win. He HAS to understand sometimes he is going to jave to take the game over and MAKE things happen rather that waiting for something to happen. He is not a 1st or 2nd year player, he is in his 8th year. Using the HC or defense, or special teams as an excuse isnt acceptable anymore.
As fans, we want to say every game "carr did everything he could to win that game"
I dont think we are seeing that from him, at least not on a consistent basis.

First off, I would say to hell with Gruden if it means winning games. It wont piss gruden off if he scores TDs. People will think gruden is a genius. Brett Favre made a lot of mediocre coaches look really good.

Mike Holmgren was not mediocre and Farve cost us team numerous times in the playoffs with his crap.

Without Mike Holmgren, Brett Favre would have been the 1970s Patriots version of Jim Plunkett. Big arm... threw deep into coverage... took a lot of sacks trying to wait for his deep targets to get open... didn't win many games because the team around him wasn't very good and his HC didn't really want him.

Brett Favre would have been a bust for 30 of the 32 teams back then. Favre needed Holmgren. Plunkett needed AL Davis.

"kill" isn't always a checkoff, a lot of times it's a dummy call.

I've never been a fan of the Gruden hiring. I was ok with it but that's as far as it went. I'd be ok with moving on.

You are right, Carr is better than Farve, because if you never get to the playoffs you cant loose games in the playoffs.

Farve is 1000x the QB carr could ever be in his wildest dreams . Farve made a staff with mooch and gruden on it look good. He had 15 seasons OVER .500, went to 24 play off games, went to multiple Super bowls... carr could play for 40 more years and never come close to what Farve did. Then he goes to a new team and takes them deep in to the playoffs.
Carr is a mediocre QB that no one will remember 2 seasons out of the league... so yeah he could stand to be a bit more bold.
