I don't like Parsons in this defense but I'm not terribly familiar w/ what Bradley is going to do so I'll take the expert's opinions over mine. Like you said though, position wise, it's very good.RunOverByHubbard wrote Wed Apr 07, 2021 9:45 am:Yet another new two round mock at CBS. He has Micah Parsons LB in the first and Samuel Cosmi, OT, Texas in the second. Position priority wise, this feels about right to me.

Parsons is getting a lot of love for a playa that hasn't seen the field since 2019. I think that guys that opted out carry a significantly higher level of risk....especially in the first round. No player in the first round is a lock to be productive, but rolling the dice on players with a limited amount of tape to review is throwing caution to the wind. Raiders have to hit on this pick. Hope they go with someone that played in the CFB 2020 season.CWood24 » Wed Apr 07, 2021 11:06 am
Parsons would be a great fit in this D would more than likely play the SAM spot & could be a 3 down guy in the role but could move to MIKE or WILL in certain packagesBobbyPhil1781 wrote Wed Apr 07, 2021 10:40 am:I don't like Parsons in this defense but I'm not terribly familiar w/ what Bradley is going to do so I'll take the expert's opinions over mine. So do I. I really doubt Parsons will fall to 17. Watch it happen though and we pass on him and reach for a player. I would melt down. I already have been telling myself if something like that happens don't post for 12-24 hours. And have the blood pressure meds already out to be taken....Scarpariello wrote Wed Apr 07, 2021 9:57 am:I'd like that start to the draft. Hope Parson's makes it to 17.

Out of all the mocks I've seen, this one probably makes the most sense to me in terms of what I think other teams ahead of us will do. I would want a more talented tackle that Cosmi but if he came with Micah I wouldn't complain. Micah has the athletic ability to do it all and in the LEO spot he could just stick to rushing the passer and cover TEs which would be easier for his rookie year rather than playing a more traditional SLB or WLB.BobbyPhil1781 wrote Wed Apr 07, 2021 10:40 am:I don't like Parsons in this defense but I'm not terribly familiar w/ what Bradley is going to do so I'll take the expert's opinions over mine. Flashbacks of 2018 when we traded down - Derwin and Edmunds were both still there - and we drafted miller.Fade2SilverAndBlack wrote Wed Apr 07, 2021 11:22 am:So do I. Mock drafting has become a joke.raiders93 wrote Wed Apr 07, 2021 2:38 pm:Flashbacks of 2018 when we traded down - Derwin and Edmunds were both still there - and we drafted miller.
At the very least miller has become a good tackle but holy hell.... at the time it was such a classic move. From potential stroke of brilliance in trading down and still getting a great value in James or Edmunds.... to who the fuck did we just pick and why haven’t I seen him in a 1st round mock anywhere.

Here's a little human behavioral secret about mock drafting...
most of the mock drafts which are considered sensible...
were constructed like this
1. find out who the most mocked and most highly rated 24 draft picks are
2. assign them to one of the 32 teams.
3. compare this mock to the other popular mock drsafts
4. revise this mock to make it look more like Mel Kiper's mock draft.
Now it's done for today.

Well with offensive line troubles and a defensive back field in unknown territory the Raiders are cornered into selecting players of need.CWood24 » Wed Apr 07, 2021 9:12 pm
So let me get this straight if the whole NFL values a player at 17 & we draft him at 17 but all the mock drafts have him as a late 2nd round pick that means we’ve reached for him?deathstar » Wed Apr 07, 2021 9:13 pm
We all preach BPA, what happens when BPA is a strength of a team? What happens when the best BPA is a RB? Do you draft for need or actually go with RB? I would draft a RB or if some miracle happens, draft Kyle Pitts at #17. I totally practice and preach BPA.ShizoGenie » Thu Apr 08, 2021 5:15 am

Too many times we've gone against "consensus", too many times players have busted, too many drafts with shit long-term results. The "reaching" would be fine if we had similar results to say the Seahawks, who have reached against consensus often under John Schneider/Pete Carroll, and had success---- but this sure as f hasn't happened with the Raiders. Raiders need to prove us wrong for a f'ing change-- otherwise yes, fans will keep harping on the lack of success, and any goofy Al Davis anti-consensus picks--- and whether you like it or not, justifiably so.CWood24 wrote Wed Apr 07, 2021 9:12 pm:So let me get this straight if the whole NFL values a player at 17 & we draft him at 17 but all the mock drafts have him as a late 2nd round pick that means we’ve reached for him?
How are we doing this because every year Raiders fan complain that we’ve reach because Mel Kiper, Daniel Jeremiah, Matt Miller etc said so, can we all agree on a consensus mock draft board to go off
I’m still seeing fans go on about Josh Allen & Ceedee Lamb when both haven't produced to show that they are better picks
All i need a 17 is a player who fills a need that can play i dont care about BPA it a ridiculous concept, if they come in & do what Miller & Ferrell produced last year then you can’t ask for much more although there is always room to improve

your personal history with mock drafts is not very good, so I am pretty sure you might not know how most guys who do this get their boards togetherIvanavich wrote Wed Apr 07, 2021 2:52 pm:Mock drafting has become a joke.

Not surprisingly, when the same 24 players are in every mock draft, fans go ballistic if their team drafts at #1 - #24 and the player's name isn't one of the Top 24 most popular names.
This is why the teams try to mislead the other teams in public. Any 5th grader can take 24 names and assign them to 24 of the first 32 draft spots.
There should always be surprise names in the 1st round of every draft. It's not a sign of poor drafting... it's a sign of building your own board relative to the needs of your own team. Mel Kiper is trying to outguess the field of how the final draft plays out. Kiper couldn't care less who the player's name is... as long as somebody leaked it out to him to use.

To complicate matters more when someone else gets a steal later on you were supposed to have taken him earlier even if that would have been considered a reach at the time.CWood24 wrote Wed Apr 07, 2021 9:12 pm:So let me get this straight if the whole NFL values a player at 17 & we draft him at 17 but all the mock drafts have him as a late 2nd round pick that means we’ve reached for him?
