Cooper immediately helped Dallas turn their season around in 2018 and helped get them to the playoffs. He's had 5 1000 yard seasons out of 6 seasons.
What's funny is some of you guys talk about him like he sucks, he has his flaws but he's been quite productive and he is an excellent route runner.

I saw enough games in person to see several instances of how open he would get and the Qb simply would not throw him the ball or look his way so I see why he tuned out after awhile.
My point is I could see the same thing happening with Ruggs after another season of hardly getting any looks.
As for WR's who check out or have attitude problems when they don't get the ball as much as they would like I guess several HOF WR's aren't good enough to be on your team.

Nope, wouldn't do it.

It appears it is time to move on from Derek though. I would be inclined to trade Carr for picks and stick Mariota back there then draft a QB this year, or acquire one sitting on a bench in the league somewhere or bagging groceries and learn the system ASAP.

Why? The offense did a great job this year with him as qb and he isn’t close to being old.

Agree....

There is no way the Raiders would even have enough draft picks to be able to do it. Miami is a team that easily can trade for Watson. Not the Raiders....

I could be wrong (I usually am!), but when Gruden set PG packing he stated something along the lines of "we needed another voice in the room" which is a PC way of saying he wasn't working out and you are fired.

I wonder if this holds true for Derek.

To me there are only a handful of "franchise QB's" in a 32 team league. Mahomes (with the help of Reid and his offensive personel), Rodgers, Wilson, Ryan. That's about it. I don't include Brady and Brees because it's over for them and a "franchise QB" is somebody you expect to have for a while. Then you have the rest which all come with their warts. Derek is one of them. Where Derek fits in that pack is debatable.

I'm just under the impression like PG we may need a different voice in the room and wonder if he is really liked in the locker room. And from a strictly a stay ahead of the curve situation it appears on a pro v. con that it would behoove us to move on from him right now. He had a good year and possibly we could ship him out and get something pretty good in return for him.

I'm also of the belief that the team would be right about were they are if Marcus was under center in Gruden's system and that shipping Carr out would get us more picks to help round out this roster and save a shit ton of cap room.

I don't think Mariota could make it through 3 games without getting injured much less a season!!!

Offense played at a high level and Carr had a great year so I will ask again why? Fat Paul needed to go because the defense sucked ass.

Let’s not compare Carr to fat Paul please because he did not fail at his job.

So you want to get a new Qb for the sake of it? I am Trying to understand you cause Carr did not fail this year unlike Paul Guenther and you seem to be comparing the two.

I hope all the other teams in need of a new coaching staff believe as you do. I'd love to see Olsen "stolen" from us so we can bring in somebody who will take over the play calling duties from Gruden.

No one wants Olsen. Gruden should fire him....

Gruden will always call the plays no matter who is the OC....
