You had a proven pass rusher, was open to going to Vegas, had experience in the system but now Gruden gets stingy with his 6th round draft picks and not offer one for him after trading multiple picks for bums the last 3 years.
Then of course Dunlap goes to the Seahawks for a 6th and goes off, playing like a top 5 pass rusher.
Gruden pretty much does the opposite of what the obvious thing to do is.
If he wants to sit on his couch eating bon bons this off season, he can hit the unemployment line.
Time to move on
Longer term and maybe nearer term, there's a set of solid RT prospect in the draft who'd fit in nicely for us. Alaric Jackson from Iowa's a guy who'd fit in well for us at RT and could even slide inside, IMO. He's not a LT, but he'd do good with Cable's system, IMO

Indeed, although it pre-dates Gruden by quite a bit. Other than the Gruden-Gannon years, we have sucked for far too long. So about 18 years so far and counting and last Super Bowl appearance was about 35 years ago. Well I wasn’t try to list all of our moves and all transactions for the year but rather make a point that Brown needs to go and we can have some serious cap relief with just a few moves with little dead money. but since you asked Simpson would be one guard and then I would look at our practice squad for the other, if that doesn’t work I would find one either in FA, the draft, or an undrafted FA. There are a couple of lower cost FA like Spriggs or Haeg to play RT if we can’t find one in the draft or from our own roster, like Parker or Seymour. I’d rather pay $5m to an average OT that will most likely at least play the majority of the season than $ 14m to a dominant tackle that never seems to suit up.
