but both of your choices are in the mix. Washington, Tennessee round out the top five.

Del Rio and Rivera are tough guys..along with Vrabel.Just don’t see him there #soft

I think Carr goes to Carolina now. Frank Reich loves Carr.

Derek Carr will be eaten alive by the media that covers the Jets plus the weather is not friendly. His best fit is probably in Houston or Carolina or Indy.

^ this.

Can very easily see this happening. As I recall Reich quite religious as well. I could see that as a bond that pulls them together.

Houston, Carolina now that old fart Reich is there and Tampa if Brady leaves, that's it. Indy all but announced they are out, the Jets have a media that would break the crier, Washington is a mess with a mean HC that will call out the QB specifically and the Saints have a dead man walking at the HC position.

I sincerely hope I am dead wrong and all of you are right. A trade with any draft capital would be great.

Possibly my own personal take on Carr's value is clouding my judgement in regards to what other GMs might be thinking about the prospect of acquiring Carr.

I think it's a mistake for any team to trade for Carr. However I watch teams make mistakes like that all the time, and I don't expect mistakes to stop - a couple of Wentz trades, and a Matt Ryan trade are recent examples. Add to that the fact that reputable reporters are saying that multiple teams are interested and it appears that there will be a market. I don't expect trade compensation to be big. I think you might entice more trade compensation by agreeing to pay the guaranteed amount from 2024 as a signing bonus, essentially making it a series of one year contracts for the acquiring team.

I also think that Carr will be happy to waive his no trade clause - I think he's too insecure to really want to hit FA and compete on the open market with other QBs.

We're all just spectators though, and I could be wrong.

The more I think about it the more I think he'll be cut. If I was the owner of a team and was contemplating Carr, I would not want to give up any capital for him knowing the Raiders will cut him.

#1. I think he gets cut.

#2. I don't own a team though.

Carr has value and other GM's will see that. A good defense this year would've had the Raiders in the playoffs most likely.

Other GM's will see that Carr had bottom ranking defenses for his career in Raiderland. They will be thinking that he can be immediately serviceable and win if the defense is more then capable.

I wouldn't be surprised if a 1st rd pick is ponied up and I'm happy Carr is moving on. Luckily for the Raiders 5-6 teams seem interested in his services.

I think that's what'll happen too.

Carr isn't the only average QB out there and no one in their right mind is going to give up draft capital when they can find a QB who maybe throws a TD or two less per season, but for about $30,000,000 less in cap space.

2020 was the season to trade him and move up in the draft. Last year would've not have been as good as 2020, but still better than this year.

At the end of the day, what really matters is that he's gone. I don't care if we get anything in trade for him.

I believe the market price for a one-year "prove it" contract for Carr is in the $5 to $10 million range.
If I am correct the Raiders will release him rather than trade him.
My guess is that Jimmy G's market value is about the same as Carr's and I figure both players will end up signing one-year deals.

Whatever team he ends up on, I'll go check their forums out and see if any names seem familiar. Such as SaintandBulldog, or JetandBulldog, or TexanandBulldog etc etc
