I'm not saying they are. But all they have to do is get to the playoffs and us miss the playoffs again for the Carr fans to go nuts. Even if his #s aren't great. I am eager if he does go to NY and they miss the playoffs again what the excuses will be though.Dark Horse wrote Sun Jan 22, 2023 6:38 am:That defense isn't on the same planet as the Ravens and on top of that, the league has changed to favor offense. Trent Dilfer will never happen again. It wouldn't be that simple for Lil Derek?

This thread is really pretty boring and I don't bother with it much. Sorry people your anti-Carr rants are tired, and you need original material. Twitter is way more entertaining. Like this guy.... who's being sarcastic right?Amish Cabal » Sun Jan 22, 2023 7:21 am
I understand what you mean. Derek will have checked out several games before the playoffs. But he'll have enough stats from the first few that it MUST be someone else's fault, and the battle of the fan base begins. I see it already in their forums, and he's not even on the team yet.Wyoraider wrote Sun Jan 22, 2023 7:01 am:I'm not saying they are. The bottom one is funny because I believe in that point to an extent. Reid has never really had a bad performing QB. Mahomes is a really good QB and elevates Reids offense. I also believe is if Mahomes was on another team he probably does not have a Superbowl ring yet.GUYDON » Sun Jan 22, 2023 7:29 am
A motivated carr that "drops dimes" only last until he gets hit the first time. Once he goes down hard, he will be awful for the next 4 games. He might even pack it in for the season even if playoffs are on the line. He is emotional as hell.Amish Cabal » Sun Jan 22, 2023 7:38 am

Dilfer didn’t make much money with the Ravens and take up a significant proportion of their cap. By all accounts Carr is set to either maintain his current contract or get a huge payday, even though he’s only worthy of an Andy Dalton level deal.Wyoraider wrote Sun Jan 22, 2023 6:25 am:Carr does not have to win games in NY if that defense continues to get better. He will have to do just enough. Kind of like Dilfer with the Ravens. And if they do win that way Carr fans will still scream from the highest peak "I told you so."
Although the NY media might still crucify him. Winning doesn't always cure all in NY.

EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!! When you pay an average QB elite money, your ability to keep all your toys on D dissipates.VEfreak wrote Sun Jan 22, 2023 8:56 am:Dilfer didn’t make much money with the Ravens and take up a significant proportion of their cap. Not to mention that that Ravens team was one of the best examples of building through the draft, right up there with the 1990's Cowboys and early 1980's 49ers teams.signal wrote Sun Jan 22, 2023 9:03 am:EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!! Any comparison to Carr and Dilfer makes me laugh. Dilfer was cheap and allowed a team to win simply by building a dominate D. Any team Carr goes to.....he will require a VERY good OL or he will become less effective and he will need really good offensive weapons...or he will be less effective. We have all seen it. He needs mounds of talent around him to be average. So how does a team get that and still keep their D?????
In short, without a good OL and good offensive weapons, Carr becomes I believe a below average QB AND still eating up mounds of cap.
Carr is not winning anything, no matter where he goes. Wherever he goes that team will become at best average.

IF Carr is smart, he will do everything to help the Raiders in a trade and if so, he will be making 40 million a year...give or take a few million given his present contract.Dark Horse wrote Sun Jan 22, 2023 9:04 am:Define huge

Right, I don't buy that he will make more on the open market and I can't believe people are saying this. Incentives? Yes, but years and guaranteed money? Why would a team do that?signal wrote Sun Jan 22, 2023 9:07 am:IF Carr is smart, he will do everything to help the Raiders in a trade and if so, he will be making 40 million a year...give or take a few million given his present contract.
I definitely do not see Carr willing to take a huge cut in pay.
