Carr's DEFENSE RANK :
2014 = 32
2015 = 22
2016 = 20
2017 = 20
2018 = 32
2019 = 24
2020 = 30
2021 = 26
... that equals on average for his career a 26th ranked defense
NO other QB or TEAM as had a WORST defense since 2014 ... go look it up

Mac Jones didn't run this offense last year. The Pats run Ernie Zampese's offense which is Air Coryell with just a few updates. We run the spread with Power concepts.HesterLayes wrote Wed Sep 21, 2022 8:52 pm:Mac Jones did fine with it last year

You do know that the QB can help out his defense greatly but putting drives together, keeping his defense off the field and letting them get some rest right? Tom Brady has always had good defenses because he doesn't leave then out to dry. When Brady needs his defense to make a play they usually do because they are refreshed and have energy. Derek gassed our defense in the 2nd half of last game.HOLYRAIDER wrote Wed Sep 21, 2022 10:39 pm: That’s still up for debate … but what isn’t is the DEFENSE that has sucked for 9 consecutive years.

didn't Gruden build the defense that sucked since he came back?HOLYRAIDER wrote Wed Sep 21, 2022 10:39 pm: That’s still up for debate … but what isn’t is the DEFENSE that has sucked for 9 consecutive years.

The pats have basically run the Earhart/Perkins since the 70s. You’re saying Josh McDaniels is installing a completely new offense he hasn’t ran for this season? How did the pats defense recognize the calls I’m practice? This is the same offense he ran at New England with Jones.sooperkool wrote Wed Sep 21, 2022 11:53 pm:Mac Jones didn't run this offense last year. It’s a variation of the Earhart Perkins. Same as the original west coast doesn’t exist anymore. Every single article involving McDaniels philosophy says Modified EP. Everything has adapted both offensively and defensively. Unless you have evidence to the contrary I’ll stand by my statement based on many articles I’ve readsooperkool wrote Thu Sep 22, 2022 7:02 am: First things first:
I foresee some about to say I'm setting up a Carr has to learn a new offense, just don't...that's not where this is going .
Second thing second:
Zampese invented the "Air Coryell" offense as an assistant for Don Coryell, It was the same offense he ran for the Rams and then ran it in New England for the whole 2 years he was an OC, no team has ever run the same offense in the NFL for 50+ years.
Last things last:
The defense recognized the calls because they are familiar with McD, they knew the motions, formations and designated receivers McD likes to run since they played against that offense in practice. Everyone runs pretty much the same routes, it's the formations and motions that are the differences.

throw to score, run to win. Pats offenses rely on TOP to win their games. This is why Jacobs is running a lot more up the gut to get hard yards. (sorry Ivan, just a fact, deal with it)live.B.A.raida » Thu Sep 22, 2022 7:37 am
It’s not the defenses fault they got a 20 point lead early in the game that Carr thought they could sit on… Carr hung them out to dry but don’t listen to me let’s look at a direct word for word quote from Josh McDaniels:HOLYRAIDER wrote Wed Sep 21, 2022 10:39 pm: That’s still up for debate … but what isn’t is the DEFENSE that has sucked for 9 consecutive years.

But yeah… everyone just likes to hate lol… sooo clueless I’m sure JM is clueless as well.The drawing board for Las Vegas Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels is well-used just two games into the regular season. McDaniels’ offense went into the the locker room with a 20-0 lead and didn’t come back out for the second half.
As result, his Raiders will once again go back to the drawing board and regroup after a stunning 29-23 overtime loss to the visiting Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. The defeat was the Raiders’ rendition of the classic fable The Tortoise and The Hare as the team sports an 0-2 mark to start the 2022 campaign.
“They coached and played 60 minutes and then some a little bit better than we did,” McDaniels said of Arizona in the postgame press conference. “Made a few more plays than we did at the end. I thought we thought we got off to a good start, I thought we tried to play the game the right way out, ran out of gas little bit on defense and played a lot of plays in the second half. A big part of that was we really couldn’t establish much offensively in terms of rhythm in the third and fourth quarter, and kind of left our defense out there a little bit.

Football at its core is still about blocking and tackling. Do those 2 things well and usually you have success. There are outliers and ways to mask some deficiencies but those 2 things still rule the roost.Attyla wrote Thu Sep 22, 2022 7:27 am:throw to score, run to win. When successful, you can control the clock. When it is not, you start flinging the ball with no actual gameplan.
