Here me out before you Demonize me but I had this idea after reading Trayvon Mullen is still recovering from surgery and we have Rock Ya-Sin as our solid CB2. Just idea because of our CB issues recently.

There's been reports of him working at outside corner. So you never know

Carr. 1st Raiders starting QB for 10 years. Book it, Daniel.

Anything is possible. Patriots coaches liked versatility, which means being able to play multiple spots.

Too early to demonize you.

Playing nickel is almost just as important as CB1. They are on the field alarmist every play.

Well, in today's NFL you need more than two reliable cornerbacks. Hobbs definitely is in the mix as someone who can start or be routinely in the mix on passing downs. Either way, I do agree with the OP, it will be interesting to see how the competition plays out. Nate is young and may just surprise and develop into that guy you call a CB1.

I wonder if this is Paul Guenther burner account.

We did not learn or lesson from taking a pro bowl safety and turn if into a mediocre slot corner.

So lets take a slot corner that over produced for 1 year. And turn him into an unknown at the CB1 position.

So wait implement an idea that our coaching staff have already implemented they’ve also worked him out at safety as well this isn't new it has been reported a ton, i think someone has seen it reported & trying to claim it as there own

Versatility & adaptability is key to Graham’s defence he likes to moves pieces around

Based on camp rumblings thus far, Rock is our CB1 and will definitely be lining up on the outside.

Hobbs was outstanding in the nickel last season, not only from a coverage perspective but also had a real feel for the blitz and was EXCELLENT in run support on the edge. It would somewhat be a waste of his skillset to move him outside in my opinion. However, the new coaching staff have made it clear they want to give everyone a look at all positions to gauge best fits. We'll see!

A sneaky name to keep an eye on is Amik Robertson. By several accounts he's had a great start with these new coaches and they mentioned his experience on the outside also.

Hoping Trayvon comes back to his best form because it's a thinnish unit without him if we're being honest.

One could make the argument that we are "thin" even with him. Thin the sense that out of any unit the back end of the Defense has the most cause for concern

I actually didn't know that, this was just an idea based on his performance from last year. I think he's our best option at CB1.

I say OL is an equal concern, but I agree. Rock is starting caliber, but he’s not a star (yet?). Mullens is up and down — he’s flashed traits that are promising, but hasn’t put it all together nor stayed healthy. Hobbs was a great nickel in Gus’s scheme, and he seems like a player so I think you can pencil him in to continue his trajectory. Is Averett any good? I don’t know much about him. Beyond that we don’t have much— maybe guys like Amik step up? But we have limited depth, and our top guys all have their ?’s.

I like amik. But have no confidence in him due to his height. Put a tall receiver against him and we would be toast. Basically he would need to step way up just to reach them
