Where is Jacobs? Hmmmm…

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/rank ... lor-soars/

These days, I think lists of top receivers have bigger names than lists of RBs.

Not there. I think some in the list are name guys. Elliott was great but not anymore. He's good. But not great. I would say Jacobs is somewhere around 13-17

These results remind me of the pro bowl selections, some selections are on their name recognition only and not necessarily on recent production.

If jacobs can become relatively active in the passing game he’s top 10 imo. There’s only 3 guys on that list that are relatively non-factors in the passing game - one of them is Henry and the other 2 have great lines (chubb and Taylor).

Elliott being on that list kind of loses a bunch of credibility though - he’s not even the best back on his own team.

Full blown RBBC

Situational.

I wouldn't want it any other way.

Jacobs has never had good run blocking his entire career.

Out of Jacobs career total rushing yards which is 3,087 rushing yards, 1,665 came after contact. That means that more than half of Jacobs yards came after contact, not including the runs where he is making guys miss. Without good run blocking, Jacobs has still produced imo.

He's listed as "Honorable Mention" aka he just missed the Top 10 which seems fair.

Careful, you're dealing with a guy who's facts are "flexible" when it comes to his favorite running backs.

I like Jacobs but he isn't a top 10 back. He is a solid back who I think will do fine in a committee. He wasn't worth the money his option would have paid him. Hopefully he stays healthy and we can keep him if the price is right

As noted it looks like he just missed the top 10, I think that’s fair. He is what he is decent but not Top 10, Likely somewhere between 11-15 IMO.

Run blocking hasn’t been our forte so it’s a bit of a question mark too.

He does have positives though usually moving forward rather than laterally and sheds tackles on a fairly consistent basis.

Taylor IMO despite some questions marks for this year is still #1.

Our run blocking was good Jacob's rookie year, which is why people think he's good. If anything, the run blocking being sub par exposed him for the average RB he is.

If Jacobs was able to stay healthy given his running style, I would like him more. But, injuries at times either keep him out of games or slow him down to the point that he ineffective in some games. When healthy, the guy can bring it.

Raiders need to run by committee, and find that right mix so that they have a consistent running game all season. Z has brought in the horses and Josh just needs to sort it out.

It is far more important that Josh find the right mix, the right group of RBs that can bring a hard nosed aggressive running attack throughout the entire season than it is to have one guy make a top ten list.
