Young looks good but size is concerning

My preference is sign a vet like Minshew and draft a QB if the right guy is there in the next few drafts.

Don't really matter though as we're fk'd anyway when The Turd returns next season and beyond

I think we keep Carr and we dump every pick into the D and if we get more we put it in the D we work on D line and LBs first. Them we get 1 or 2 for secondary.

Yep, get a good D so he can finally put up or shut up. It's a win win, either he succeeds and we go far into playoffs or he fails and we're close enough to trade up for Williams in 2024.

There hasn't been a can't miss QB for a few years and I am juat not confident this year.

Even if we don’t draft replacing Carrs production at 1/2 the price or less isn’t terribly difficult. Most nfl Qbs can throw 23-25 TDs in a season. It’s just time to move on.

Dump Carr's salary for 2023, get a reasonably priced veteran QB looking for a new home (not named Baker or Wentz), collect draft capital and get "the guy" in 2024.

watching the game now here in la
caleb is lining himself up to be #1 2024
it would have to be a disastrous scenario for the raiders to get high enough in '24 to get him

the only way to make that happen is to be in top 10 in '23, and trade down to get extra #1 and additional picks in '24

as i realize i'm talking about '24 draft...

back to tomorrow. i see raiders winning a few, and will finish between 10-13 in next year's draft

there is a scenario in '23 draft if raiders stay top 4 and one of the qb's fall they can trade out and pick up a 1st and extra picks...that would give them ammo to move up in '24.

i'm against it though. i'm more of a fan of bpa, and if not there, trade down and get more picks. i don't like trading up unless it's a can't miss scenario...and since 50% of 1st rounders bust, there aren't many can't miss scenarios

Have to zero in on 3 or so QBs and make some crafty plans on how to get in the top of the draft without tanking. I'm not sold on the QB talent at the top of this draft--plan ahead for 2024. Trade, trade, trade. Not every team in the top 5 wants a QB. Sometimes D is a bigger need and a team willingly trades down if they get the right offer for the draft pick, etc. We've been waiting a long time for an elite QB and it looks like 2024 will have some available (depending on who declares), so go for it.

houston is definitely looking qb. and carolina would be insane not to at least consider it.
i'm not a stroud or young guy. which won't matter as i think raiders finish in 10-13 overall range.
i want a big qb.
still in the levis camp until further notice, but am becoming more intrigued with tanner mckee/stanford in r3

you have to roll the dice for sure. Defense is only gonna get better with an infuse of talent but to assume one draft is gonna recreate the 85 bears is just not realistic.

to be honest, the way to improve any defense is two fold. You have to be able to stop the pass, and that is with good corners and a good pass rush. And you have to get them off the field and that is by owning the clock on offense. The Bears had that stifling defense but they also had the ability to own the clock with a great running game. Jacobs has proven to be able to do the former, and Maxx has given us some of the prior. We just have to piece together the rest to make us viable.

But to do that in one off season given our oline issues? Not happening, we are at least 2 seasons from being a viable consistent contender
