DC's got the 8th best stats in the nfl.

Unless you can get me a 1 thru 7....I'll take filling some holes on D and along lines.

Not a DC guy by a long shot. Just looking at the practicality of it.

I totally get what you are saying, but stats dont show the will to win. It doesnt show a guy being a good leader of men (not that I think carr is a "bad"leader). It doesnt show how a guy who HATES to lose, puts a team on his back and makes every one better because any thing less than winning is unacceptable. Carr is what he is. Players like him, coaches love him, he can keep you in a game many times, but he has never been the guy a team rallies around amd who they believe can win them a championship. I want a guy that imposes his will on the opponent. A guy who has one goal and wont stop. A guy who commands respect from the team with his leadership and play. They ARE out there, but you will never find them if you stick with mediocore

Those guys are FEW and far between.


The average QB that people here think is better than Carr does not meet your “imposes his will” standard.

Think Kirk Cousins.
Think Herbert.
Think Stafford.

Carr haters can’t wait to get to a thread like this and say those guys are better and that they’d much rather have them.

Do those guys “impose their will” on teams?
Are they going to make a difference in this Raiders roster if we swap them for Carr?

That may be why they are kicking tires on guys like Rourke that don't require investment of a draft pick. I still think Carr's fate is ultimately tied to how he plays the rest of the season as the team has options with the way his contract is structured. It's been a down season for QB's in general in the NFL so in reflection Carr has been pretty decent. Still you never know as Carr will have solid trade value if the team wants to go in a different direction. I'm fine with any direction the team goes as long as it's not going to a guy like Garoppolo who's strictly a game manager and won't have the 49ers defense behind him in LV.

I like how anytime a college QB has a bad game, he becomes un-draftable. It has been spouted around here it seems as long as Carr has been a Raider. Yet look at how many young guns have entered the league since he was drafted.

I think an astute GM can find a QB who is not making elite money to be a good game manager. Which is all Carr is right now....a game manager making elite money starting next year.

There are some that touted Carr's three TDs last game as elite. But they never manage to mention that a backup QB (White) entered a game the same week to throw 3 TDs. Fact is Carr is very much an ordinary QB making extraordinary money. And in the cap era, it makes no sense. It sabotages your ability to build a roster moving forward.

Anyone thinking the room under the cap is squeezing the Raiders ability to get or retain talent has seen nothing yet...wait till Carr's and Adam's contracts balloon.

Cousins and Garoppolo have as many total tds as Carr.

Fields, Jackson, Lawrence, Rodgers, Herbert and Geno have more total touchdowns than Carr.

Than you have Mahomes, Allen, Tua, Burrow, and Hurts.

Goff has only one less touchdown pass than Carr.

But yeah Carr has the 8th best stats.
