RI RAIDER wrote Fri Feb 03, 2023 1:41 pm:The salary is not the big problem for us but its the draft compensation. I think Rodgers does have leverage (it would hurt the Packers if he retires because of the immediate dead space it will cause as well as not being able to get picks for him). He should be able to dictate where he goes (within reason). I would assume its the AFC for him. A couple of teams who come to mind that may make a move for him (Jets and Dolphins). I think Rodgers would put the Dolphins ahead of us but not the Jets (either though they are better). Its interesting conversation but I really would not give up more than Waller and a 2nd at most.
I know things change, but I’ve read repeatedly that Miami is sticking with Tua

Jets OL sucks, but they have a nice young weapon or two and that D is nice.

Good fit.

So far, it's crickets for Stidham and a better contract offer.

But 'you do you', as Attyla likes to say.
I think I said that once....so wrong....again

As for a new contract for Stidham, teams cannot even talk to his agent right now, other than the Raiders. So guess what, you are wrong again!

As for the GMs agreeing with someone....There is not a GM out there that would agree with most of the stuff you say....

Stidham is worth more to us than anyone else... But we are worth more to him than any other team.

He knows the offense, so good for him. But likely no other team would give him the chance to start

The two elements Carr is deficient in. Two bad they don't make those in a supplement form.

I'm willing to go on record and say that I don't want Aaron Rodgers unless we get him cheap, which isn't likely. I'm not willing to pay Jimmy Garropolo a cent more than 15m per, which again, is unlikely. I'm not interested in trading up for any of the Stroud's, Levis's or Young's of the draft, nor do I want AR at all.

My thoughts haven't changed much.

Roll with Stidham, use pick 7 on the best defensive player on the board. Take a flyer on Hooker in the second if possible. I truly believe that if Stidham had the entire off season reps with the 1s, we'd have made the playoffs.

I agree, with a good defense even a mediocre QB is servicable. I think Stidham will be good enough if we can beef up our defense. We are never going to win a shootout against mahomes unless its a fluke. We need a lights out defense to pump fear into the chiefs.

Just read Rodgers base salary is only like 1.5M next season. The things is the Raider need 60M in cap space to trade for him because his bonus is 58M BUT after the Raiders trade for him that would be spread out over 4 years essentially costing the Raiders 15M a season … If I understood that correctly.

If they even try and trade for Rodgers I'd be firing everyone.

Would be an absolutely stupid move.

We're not a QB away. We're not a 40 year old QB away.

Rebuild the fucking roster. It's trash

As sad and depressing as that sounds, it’s probably necessary. What will this be, Year 20 of our perpetual rebuild since the 2003 Super Bowl loss?

Forcing it and going for it when you're not ready, just leads to an even longer rebuild

We can't afford to waste these offensive weapons.

I don't see a QB currently on the roster who can take full advantage of them.

Stiddy did just that. 584 yards and 4 TDs vs. two teams that went to conference championships in his first two starts
