I’m not sure he’s available that far down. I bet he ends up higher on a lot of GMs boards. Pro style offense. Compared a lot to the shanahan/mcvay stuff. Tough as nails. Accurate when he used mechanics properly. Athletic.TallMarvin wrote Tue Sep 27, 2022 6:57 pm:right now i'm looking at levis/kentucky
6"3", 232. has the prototype size and arm. almost a 'new england' type qb, good development for our head coach 'whisperer'
he won't be 1st qb selected, the flashier qb's will go first, so raiders may have a shot at drafting him towards spot #8-12
i'm drafting qb next year regardless of how carr finishes this year [if i had that control over the roster]. it is time.
BlackShield » Tue Sep 27, 2022 7:18 pm
i think he's in that 7-8 range because some of the other teams projected to finish top 10 in the draft [jets, bears, arizona] already have qb's [however shaky] with other pressing needs, and nfl teams fall in love with edge rushers/'shutdown' corners early, so there's that. stroud and young should be the first 2 qb's selected [i'd prefer a big, big-armed qb]Raidernation1979 wrote Tue Sep 27, 2022 7:11 pm:I’m not sure he’s available that far down. Sure but that not my point, point is no way Bill would tolerate Carr’s style of play.sooperkool wrote Tue Sep 27, 2022 6:00 pm:NO trade clause. He's not going anywhere if he doesn't want to.

I rarely see a no trade cause actually block a player from getting traded. If your GM/owner/HC asks you to waive it, it is rare that the player will stay where they are being told they are not wanted. Maybe a few super star NBA players have done so but not a ton. Carr may opt to not waive his because he wants to stay in Vegas but that is about the only thing that might sway him.sooperkool wrote Tue Sep 27, 2022 6:00 pm:NO trade clause. Do you put any weight into his claims that he would retire if he were cut or traded? The dude is more than well off, doesn't need football, has other callings in life. At some point that has to be in the minds of teams that would be looking to give up draft capital.Attyla wrote Wed Sep 28, 2022 9:32 am:I rarely see a no trade cause actually block a player from getting traded. If he didn't retire some teams would talk to him about it but for sure there will be teams that will still would forge ahead...bringdafunk wrote Wed Sep 28, 2022 10:38 am:Do you put any weight into his claims that he would retire if he were cut or traded? I honestly would not rule it out. It’s not like he’s had a short career as a 9 year starter. The no trade clause eliminates most of the risk with this though since he’d have to agree to play for whoever we may have a deal with.bringdafunk wrote Wed Sep 28, 2022 10:38 am:Do you put any weight into his claims that he would retire if he were cut or traded? Is he going to risk losing that sweet contract by turning down trades? I don’t think soFLORIDARAYDAH » Wed Sep 28, 2022 11:09 am
Absolutely he would turn down a trade if he didn't like the destination. Look at the money being thrown around at worse QBs. He won't get what he has now but would still get plenty. He has made a lot of money in 9 years I don't think it's his sole driving forceHesterLayes wrote Wed Sep 28, 2022 11:02 am:Is he going to risk losing that sweet contract by turning down trades? We could always rewrite his contract also and use him as a bridge QB. If nothing else we can re-sign him closer to his value. I just don't see anyone (Including us) paying 35 then 42 million.FLORIDARAYDAH wrote Wed Sep 28, 2022 11:09 am:Absolutely he would turn down a trade if he didn't like the destination. Ultimately, none of that matters. If they have any desire to trade him they would need to convince him to do it.Attyla wrote Wed Sep 28, 2022 9:32 am:I rarely see a no trade cause actually block a player from getting traded.
