Next years qb class has a chance to be really strong if some of the underclassman come out. McCarthy from UofM has a chance to be at the top of the class too

I mean Mayes numbers in his first season starting were 4300 passing yards. 700 rushing yards. 38 passing TDS and 7 rushing TDs to 8 Ints. Williams was 4500 passing yards and 380 rushing yards. 42 passing TDs and 10 rushing TDs to 5 ints.

Those numbers are insane for both. If they go equal or better this year they’re getting “generational” hype and the list of teams that would draft either becomes so long… it’s easier to list the teams that wouldn’t be in the market. And for the most part - teams with great QBs don’t often pick top 3.

You’d basically need the team(s) picking 1st or 2nd to be there as a result of their star QB going down for the season early (chiefs, bills, bengals, etc…) Or one of the teams that picks a QB early this year to be there again next year (and not pull an Arizona).

I can’t express enough how much you’d need to happen for even a chance to move up for either of those 2 (assuming they don’t fall off a cliff this year).

I just hope "wait till next year" crowd are happy with either Penix Jr. or Ewers, IF he comes out which is not a given with Arch Manning coming in.

I like Drake Maye better anyway.

I don't like Williams. Seems like a douchebag

I like Will Levis quick release and arm. Kind of reminds me of Dan Marino.
But he was not accurate.
No way I draft him 7th overall.

Got to looking at lower round choices.
Can you hit on a Russell Wilson or Dak Prescott or even a Tom Brady?
Draft for value, not position.

He makes poor decisions and he isn't comfortable making plays outside the pocket.

He also had more required tight window throws than about anybody at any level, with a garbage line, and raw targets without being in mid 50's or being dicey as hell in the with the meat and potatoes aspects that are the on script plays that make up 90% of the action.

I think you've needled enough to prop your boy up. It is becoming a performative crab bucketing program at this point, unable to build up without tearing someone else down because the affirmative case is about the ceiling of about 5 or 10% of the action and pipedreaming a transformation of the actual quarterbacking.

I do like him more than you do Levis though and think a built team should take a chance to see if they hit a lotto or a bad team to do the same later because if it does work he would be a monster.

I think JMD knows what he wants in a QB, it may be someone we dont even hear about yet.

In concept but he hasn't shown me he has the slightest clue in practice until he has them in house and that is goes for any position.

He might know what he wants but I don't know he can evaluate to connect the dots.

Fingers and toes crossed though.

C'mon guys. With the exception of my Indian leg wrestling match against Chucker at the apex of Roger's Pass there's never been a Forums' pissing match that entertained anyone.
