Nothing wrong with taking a wideout. Adams is 30, by the time the prospect is ready to blossom he will be fading or may even will have fallen off the cliff.RI RAIDER wrote Wed Nov 30, 2022 12:13 pm:BPA is far from an exact science and teams boards are different based on many variables including but not limited to perceptions, needs, and the position itself (some positions are more valuable than others). The draft is a crap shoot (much more in football vs other sports). That being said, I would hope that we would trade down and maximize draft capital if the opportunity presents itself instead of reaching for a position of need early (unlike in previous years). We need to go defense most of the way as we legitimately need at least 4+ new starters. Draft boards I would think (I know nothing more than anyone else) are constantly changing and altered at the blink of an eye. I would hope that if we have a WR rated a spot higher on our board than a DT, that we would take the DT if and when the time came. If we took the WR in this example and exclusively stuck to our board, we would be bigger fools than anyone could imagine. Hopefully Z is up to the challenge. I am nervous as hell because he is on his training wheels.

Don't care though I agree about the lack of difference makers on D or hell even reasonable NFL starters.Jeevo wrote Wed Nov 30, 2022 5:07 pm:We can get a speed guy other ways, we more urgently need players at all levels of the defense.

We can take literally any position. We are stacked nowhere and set only in spots where another one just like what we have or better is a big win.NoThanksSir wrote Wed Nov 30, 2022 8:07 pm:I'm with you on that. Pick any position on defense and we have a need. If an all pro guy is there at any position in the top 10 you take him. It's pretty simple.
If we don't go QB, I am less interested in a trade down. I feel like good talent will fall if a few QBs go early. The value will be good if we pick within 8-13. Too good to trade down

Pass on Hollins if we are going with Refrow and Waller with Adams.16 to 88 wrote Thu Dec 01, 2022 9:53 am:Absolutely.
The QB selected will be coming to a team with a superb OC and Adams to throw to, if we can get Waller and Renfrow back and playing at their previous level and sign Hollins he will be stepping into a great situation.

he won't be around in r2, but this guy is what i'd like. we have to find that ruggs replacement wr. this is him.BluegrassRaider wrote Thu Dec 01, 2022 6:46 pm:Nothing wrong with taking a wideout. Renfrow is a slot and it is possible his wheels are coming off already too.
Other than that we have Hollins who flirts with being JAG and plain JAGS.
Wideout is not a desperate need but we sure could use one especially one with a rocket up his ass.
We are not stacked ANYWHERE.

puts absolute fear in the secondary and clears out the middle for the other wr's te's and rb to eat.
everyone was raving about hendon hooker eariler in the season, but every time they showed tennessee on tv, it was #11 that was providing the highlight film. he made hooker look good. [heh]

I'm assuming you don't go back long enough to have watched Dave Casper play for them.Pseudoscot wrote Thu Dec 01, 2022 11:28 am:I watch every ND game. Mayer is the best TE I've seen play for them and there's some quality names on that list. If that's the pick we won't be disappointed. He's absolutely a top of the first round pick.

Didn’t this team score 60 points with the backup? This offense was ready to roll regardless of the qbTallMarvin wrote Thu Dec 01, 2022 8:00 pm:he won't be around in r2, but this guy is what i'd like. we have to find that ruggs replacement wr. this is him.

I guess some are not paranoid that our defense is soft as puppy shit. Our league worst (or close to it) red zone D, takeaways, sacks, QB rating allowed, opponent 3rd down conversion %, passing yards per game, and points allowed is an aberration and we will be fine next year. Sure it would be nice to get a speed guy to compliment our receivers (silly that our receivers usually run similar routes which is great for a D coordinator). Sure it would be great to get a TE (and off Waller and his contract). Every team in the league has needs but smart teams prioritize those needs and we clearly have bigger needs. Our D has been neglected and is devoid of talent. It needs SERIOUS attention. We just gave up a ton for a WR and now we should go to the well and grab another WR? Who is going to throw to all these shiny new toys? I never understood the trade and going all in when we are a team that should have been on a rebuild. We should be drafting D (aside of a QB if the opportunity presents itself).HesterLayes » Fri Dec 02, 2022 6:41 am
I get what you’re saying and I agree to a lot of it.I’m just saying if it’s our turn to pick and Z’s top remaining guy is an offensive player I hope he takes him. I don’t want a Leatherwood deal where we needed a RT and just made a huge desperation move.I trust Z to get his top player.RI RAIDER wrote Fri Dec 02, 2022 4:59 am:I guess some are not paranoid that our defense is soft as puppy shit.
