Honestly I can’t ever figure this team out. When we look good we usually lay a turd, when we look horrible we come up with a big win. When the season looks like it goes our way we screw ourselves right out of the playoffs. When it looks like we are a long shot to make the playoffs and need to run the table like last year to make the playoffs, we do it.

So honestly this team is literally capable of anything. That is exciting and frightening all at the same time.

Soooooo….maybe????

Hypothetically speaking, if the Raiders did make a run, the media heads and fans would say that this was a playoff team all along and bring up how the Raiders were in every game, except the saints game.

Niners is the toughest game IMO, KC will have already wrapped home field and a bye by week 17. It would be asinine for Fat Andy to play Mahomes, Kelce, and other key starters for more than a quarter in the last game if thats the case. I'm sure playoff talk will keep heating up as we keep winning. One thing I do like about wining down the stretch is it sets a good precedent for the future once we figure out how to win consistently throughout the season and not have start the playoffs in November.
Interesting.
I did think that number would be much lower.

That makes me much more intrigued.

Still think we can be good and playing good (which I don’t think we are….yet) and still lose to SF because they are good.

Let’s hope the sports gods spot us one given how they spotted Arizona that Renfrow concussion (read: fumble).

It would take a lot to run the table with the teams that are remaining on the schedule. All these last two victories have done is make me think about the games they blew and what season they could’ve had. I really think they can compete against anybody and they’re not far off, especially offensively. The O-line especially has gotten better as the weeks have gone by.

I’m just gonna try and enjoy the rest of their games (they are entertaining if anything) and take them one at a time and see where it goes. The whole off-season should be devoted to getting whatever impact players they can possibly get to compliment Crosby and the defense. How many years have we been saying that now about the defense? They had their chances to do that with all those picks Gruden had, but everyone knows that story. What I wouldn’t give to have someone like a Micah Parsons or Devin White to be a field general out there with the rest of the D feeding off them creating havoc. Two extra stops a game by the defense, that’s where they’re at. Whether it’s by a turnover or forcing a punt. That’s the difference in winning comfortably or playing to the wire every week.

Week to week is definitely the way to watch this team. I don't think the defense is the only issue on this team though - we've been shut out and had too many halves of non-existent offense to ignore the offense.

I agree.Run d has been excellent,we just need more pass rush and some better secondary.

As far as the offense disappearing at times...McD has schemed guys wide open all year.I am going to blame Carr for not seeing the field.May be too simple of an explanation, but that’s my opinion.

I think we run the table. Our league worse (or close) red zone offense, red zone defense, takeaways, and sacks will carry us through.

Agree between not seeing the field and missing a lot of throws. We are very low in drops so while yes the receivers are to blame for a few they aren’t the issue with this club.

It is all a moot point until we beat the Chargers, 3 hard games are 49ers (no offense), KC and this week. Our secondary is awful, but if we can get Nate back that will help and Damon Arnette's lookalike is out so that helps too because he is trash.

That is awesome! We should have a standing order and not have any guys who color their hair (Arnette, Abram, Averette).

I still don’t know what happened in that Saint game with the offense and how bad it was as opposed to the rest of the year. One thing I know is the Raiders are ranked near the bottom in points scored in the 3rd qtr. It seems like McDaniels plays it awfully conservative in that quarter for some reason. He’s very Gruden like in that regard and last week against the Seahawks was no exception. When you’re running the ball so well, it should open up endless possibilities in the passing game, especially with play action.

Another thing that bothers me with McDaniels is the lack of screen plays or designed plays with the RB’s. It seemed like such an integral part of the Patriot offense when he was there. You have Jacobs, Abdullah and Bolden, with the latter two especially good at them and what I thought was the reason they were brought on the team in the first place. It seems like a lot of the time the RB’s are involved in the passing game is when Carr is just dumping it off to Jacobs if no one is open or he’s getting pressured. They should be involved a helluva lot more than what they are.
