This stinks of Gruden hiring his old pal PG.
Stats say his offenses ranked like the Raiders Defenses the last handful of years.
Hiring assistant coaches because they are somebody's kid, not for the success they had sown??
That is not a Winning mix.
He did have Cam playing his best ball in Carolina and had the GOAT Bradford playing pretty good in Minnesota.Maybe he is good with QBs?That way McD can focus on the game more instead of sitting on the bench all the time looking at the iPad wit the QB..or maybe that was just because our field general was slow
Whether the Raiders go QB in the draft or stay with Stidham or both...getting a guy who can help with the development of the QB is important.
People pointing to the poor OC record are missing the boat. He is not coming in to be an OC. More than anything he is coming in to work with a young QB stable.
Just my take.
As far as drafting one..Z mentioned somewhere that they would be adding one every year or so.That’s promising I guess.

Im guessing they have a QB in mind that he is familiar with because hes basically just going to be a translator between JMD and the new QB. Yes, I think his years as QB coach is why he is here and not so much his OC years. Typical Josh negative slant post missing the context. He’s an assistant tasked with aiding in running McDaniels offense. No different than when Olson was Gruden’s OC or Hackett running LaFleur’s offense. They may crash and burn running their own offense but are fine as an assistant.
