We don't know who that guy is. We also don't know who the Panthers and Texans are after. The Raiders should definitely not be trading for the #3 pick until it's on the clock though. I doubt that any of the teams looking for a QB is thinking "we're thrilled if it's any one of these 3 guys". The prospects are all so different that a given team might have any one of them rated much lower.
systematically, Stroud fits what McDaniels has looked at in the past, and frankly Levis is almost a perfect match for what he likes. Young and Richardson are way down the trough for his past QBs, but Young is probably the best of the bunch. Hard to target who we were wanting to trade into that spot to get but I suspect it was Stroud.

Exactly. I would be surprised to see a team trade to #3 before draft day.

I am glad Raiders turned it down, their asking price is ridiculous and Bears are being greedy

I like Stroud as a guy who can get the ball to anywhere on the field McDaniels wants.

I like Young as a playmaker. I respect his poise from what I saw.

I like both of them. I do not see them as QBs who can take chicken shit and make it chicken salad.
Nonetheless, those types QBs are rare so the fact fhat they aren’t that level (imo) isnt saying much. I still expect them to produce more than 2 playoff appearances in 9 years and a Jayce Frost burner account.

I give a shit about price. The Bills haven’t won a Super Bowl. Does the price of Josh Allen ever come up?

He was worth it regardless.
Take your chances when you get them.

Nobody in this draft class is worth that much, but I'd do that deal next year

Start crying now. There'll be no 1st round QB in 2023 drafted by the Raiders.

Reality check:

Fans don't know if the Raiders actually wanted to make the trade up to #1.

They could have been trying to determine what the Bears thought that the market price was.

It's not a given that the Raiders want to trade up for anybody.

No prospect is worth that price. No prospect has ever taken a snap in the NFL.

I can't help but think we're amassing picks to move up and take a QB early. I'm not saying that's what I'd do as I really like the Garoppolo signing and would draft heavy defense.
But I think that's what we're doing.

Edit: also, fuck the Bears. They gotta be smoking crack asking for all that shit.

12 picks is a lot of ammo to move around to target the guys they like.
We have 13 now with pick #100 added to the list.

Nope.... we had 11 and #100 took us up to 12 picks.

Could be a little sleight of hand on the Raiders part, misdirection. Might help a trade back.

If the raiders want a Qb they need to get one. You cant keep expecting nexts uears class to be better. Every year we hear how the next class is the one, until right before the draft, they its mext year class again.
Also, those 11 games we barely lost last uear might be wins this year. We might be picking at 15, or 20, or 25.... with no way to move up for a qb.
Personally, I think they want Levis, just because he is the only QB they have really talked about publicly. I think if he falls to a spot they can trade to, they will. I thought they had a much more solid and thought out plan going in to the offseason, but so far its seems very seat of the pants and reactionary. We will see how this goes.
