Maybe. But I bet any rookie of ours put up 6 pressures and a sack game 1 from the interior DL on limited snaps, most wouldn't blame them for taking the chance. Hire the MFer a driver.silver_ghost wrote Tue Sep 19, 2023 1:19 am:If something untoward happens to Jalen Carter in LV, the same Raider fans would turn around and call the GM an idiot who drafted Carter after so many red flags.

After watching the tape, he got off the snap MUCH better against the Bills. But he's all bull rush, he's gotta develop some other moves because he's just too one dimensionalRaidernation1979 » Tue Sep 19, 2023 6:19 am
Tyree was never a polished player. He was drafted on measure bowls and ceiling. It was always stayed it from day one he had to be taught how to effectively rush the passer in the NFL.heavyD » Tue Sep 19, 2023 6:54 am
I guess the question has to be asked if the Raiders are in position to pick developmental players when the defense badly needs difference makers on day one? If Wilson takes 2-3 years to reach his potential, this regime may not even be around to see it and then he’s a year or two from getting paid which means the team didn’t get to capitalize overly on his rookie deal. A big part of the NFL these days is having drafted players at playing levels that far exceed their rookie contracts. It’s why it’s so important to find players that contribute early into their tenure as it gives teams much more roster flexibility and keeps them from needing to overpay in free agency for declining veterans like Jones.Raidernation1979 wrote Tue Sep 19, 2023 6:19 am:Tyree was never a polished player. We all knew the plan that he would sit behind Chandler Jones this year learning getting limited snaps whilst developing also adding that it would give Wilson time to make up the time he missed in campRaidernation1979 wrote Tue Sep 19, 2023 6:19 am:Tyree was never a polished player. Exactly, if Chandler was playing, and playing his usual mediocre ball at best,, all these guys would be chanting to get Tyree on the field instead of Chandler Jones, well now you got your wish and this is what you get when you have a guy that needs to develop, missed the entire preseason, and coming off a major injury...CWood24 wrote Tue Sep 19, 2023 6:56 am:We all knew the plan that he would sit behind Chandler Jones this year learning getting limited snaps whilst developing also adding that it would give Wilson time to make up the time he missed in camp
The problem is that Jones had his meltdown & in typical Raiders fashion the plan goes out the window

You can hire him a driver but how can you stop him from racing cars at night on Vegas streets at night?Amish Cabal wrote Tue Sep 19, 2023 5:17 am:Maybe. I get it that everyone is disgusted with our putrid draft record (and record overall). It really blows. I love all the proclamations of certainty and the Monday morning quarterbacking that is taking place on this board after a couple of games. Some want to stick their chests out and say "I was right". There is nothing definitive (one way or another) at this point in time. I do not give a fuck who is/was right (myself included) as the front of the jersey is all that matters. I know NFL executives are scowering our site as we speak trying to hire the next great GM (we all know the ones that are ALWAYS right).Spirit in Black » Tue Sep 19, 2023 12:24 pm
So if he does eventually become a good player, we gotta wait till what, year 2, 3, 4?? Frustrating seeing other teams get immediate impact out of rookies.. And this dude was the worst player on the field again per PFFALLRAIDERWORLD21 » Tue Sep 19, 2023 12:52 pm

/\ this 10000% if Wilson, was injured , not ready, and the other 100 excuses given, why are we drafting him?BoKnows81 wrote Mon Sep 18, 2023 7:35 am:Again, why pick a guy under these conditions? There were guys available to help immediately. Regardless of the outcome, it was the wrong decision.

There are no players in the NFL that are trash then all the sudden become all world in year 3.RaiderFan1 wrote Tue Sep 19, 2023 7:30 am:Thats dumb, I can see you don't know the difference between an apple and an orange.... no wonder you struggle so much here

No he wouldn't. He has elite accuracy and timing, you can't teach that. With O'Connell we make the playoffs this year.RaiderFan1 wrote Tue Sep 19, 2023 7:36 am:
And For all you guys wanting to see O'Connell on the field, I suspect the same exact thing would happen... he would struggle, he would play like shit, he would lose, these guys need to develop
