Whatever the case though, Ol' Manglefoot's gonna get his opportunities and we can only hope for the best.
I can disagree with it simply because injuries like Lis Franc or ACL aren’t what the used to be, the recovery time with surgery is on average about 11 months add in getting himself in game shape then like i’ve said many times mid season is where i’d expect to see the improvement

Julio Jones, Brian Westbrook & Le’Veon Bell all recovered then had great seasons afterward

I remember people still wanting to draft Jaylon Smith & Myles Jack then sit them a year because we had no talent on the roster so we could stack talent, we have no talent on this roster because of the Grudock era so i have no problem with taking a consensus top 5 pick & giving him time

Here is the thing, surgery may have improved but there is no way to know how each person will recover. In other words nothing is 100%.

I wanted Gonzalez but here we are, have to hope for him pointing upwards and becoming a better player.

Just curious if there was a draft poll the day before or day of the draft. Just curious who everyone wanted at the time. I didn't see one

The point i was making was that all these people intimating that a lisfranc injury is career ending & we drafted a dud are wrong

People recover from lisfranc injuries & have career years, yeas i know that you can’t be 100%

I wanted Witherspoon bug Wilson was on the list if anything i just wanted to draft a player who was an actual top 10 talent in the top 10 for once

Carter had a force fumble and made several plays in last week past game. Did Tyree do anything?

Completely off topic but speaking of old football, did anyone see Levon Kirkland play back in the 90's? I just saw a video of him, 6'1 290 lb middle linebacker. Who could sideline to sideline & cover. Was before my time so I didn't know he existed. Mind blowing a guy that size can cover but Raider backers for decades haven't been able to
Not convinced he would be a great 5. He is built fairly lean with narrow hips. He would need to get a solid 15 pounds to excel.

Glad you brought up Kirkland, I was just talking to my son about him. What a freak of nature that never gets talked about.

He only played 11 snaps against the Steelers. Apparently he was sick all week according to Tafur.

Yeah I heard he was sick too, sick of getting his ass beat on the football field.

I will agree the pick looks like a complete disaster right now.

But I will wait before pulling out my hair. This rook had hardly no offseason to prepare and is coming off a serious injury. Call me silly, but I still don't think we know anything about what we have in Wilson. That is a story that is yet to be told.

I was happy we got Tyree at the time. He was like one of a handful of players that were a consensus top 7 pick.

I wanted Gonzales, we got Wilson… didn’t understand at the time why Raiders would draft another DE with Maxx and Jones on the ends already. That said I’m pulling for Wilson. Can’t compare Wilson to Carter, he’s playing on a stacked line that made history with 4 players to have 10+ sacks in a season.

Also add to that he is in an organisation where a lot of players & staff already knew him so that’ll help him keep him on the right track
