Miller did show progression in his first season.Nor_Cal_Raider wrote Mon Dec 04, 2023 8:37 am:Miller was also a bust according to most of you. Give him an off season, ota's, and a training camp then see how he looks.

Miller looked very good at times as a rookie but was hampered by a knee injury. Wilson may be limited by his foot surgery, but has looked crappy in any case.heavyD wrote Mon Dec 04, 2023 10:13 am:Miller did show progression in his first season.

It certainly would be nice to see him flash in one or more of the remaining games. Maybe the bye week will be a good thing for him.RunOverByHubbard wrote Mon Dec 04, 2023 10:15 am:Miller looked very good at times as a rookie but was hampered by a knee injury. The part that got me was when the writer said the Raiders pride themselves at developing their own players.

Do you think Crosby was developed by the Raiders?raiderboyron wrote Mon Dec 04, 2023 6:07 pm:The part that got me was when the writer said the Raiders pride themselves at developing their own players.

My personal opinion on him is that he had the drive to do it himself. I believe having that inside you goes way past coaching. Yes, learning from professionals as guidance helped, but I'm hitting how the writer said we pride ourselves on developing players where we as fans see it in a whole different light (in most cases non existent developement).Raider727 wrote Mon Dec 04, 2023 7:56 pm:Do you think Crosby was developed by the Raiders?

A very early prediction. But, I would put the odds of him being on the team at about 50/50. He has all of 2024 to get his body and mind together. At least he could have one good game this season but I know it is asking a lot of someone whose foot is holding him back. .miles_j20 wrote Tue Dec 05, 2023 10:33 am:Tyree Wilson will not be on the team in 2025.
God, I hope I am wrong.

I know that SI saying the Raiders pride on developing players is a joke, but when are we gonna give the Raiders credit for anything?raiderboyron wrote Tue Dec 05, 2023 10:24 am:My personal opinion on him is that he had the drive to do it himself. Well, since the last consistent run we had (late 90s to early 00s), for me that is still to be determined. Being a fan since the early 60s I was so used to the greatness of our team year in and year out that it became a norm for me. I may be expecting too much but if this team can establish some consistent continuity the maybe I'll see what players we can actually develop and give credit where it's due. Til then I can't because turnover in coaching doesn't really allow for players (outside of a minimal few) to progress in a system and therefore show what their true ceiling is.Raider727 wrote Tue Dec 05, 2023 11:19 am:I know that SI saying the Raiders pride on developing players is a joke, but when are we gonna give the Raiders credit for anything?

I think the Raiders deserve a lot of credit for disappointing their fans on an annual basis for two straight decades. Raiders are also really good at identifying first round draft busts. Also excellent at hiring bad coaches and GM’s. They get full marks for being a bottom 5 NFL organization for almost a 1/4 century.Raider727 wrote Tue Dec 05, 2023 11:19 am:I know that SI saying the Raiders pride on developing players is a joke, but when are we gonna give the Raiders credit for anything?

Well it could be argued that we have the best stadium in the league. But then again it could be argued we have the worst fans? After all they sell there tickets to recoup money and pack the house with opposing teams fans...Raider727 wrote Tue Dec 05, 2023 11:19 am:I know that SI saying the Raiders pride on developing players is a joke, but when are we gonna give the Raiders credit for anything?

Maybe. It will be the first time for him to really have a chance to work on technique since coming back from his injury. During the season, the focus is going to be on situational types of things. That said, I think his focus will be on contain against Dobbs and the Vikings, so I don't expect to see anything eye catching. From what I can gather from watching games and from the interview included in the SI article listed above, it seems like that has been the primary role he has been asked to play this year. Maybe they're trying to keep things a little more simple for him this year, or maybe it's more the role that they drafted him for. My guess is that it's a little of both.heavyD wrote Mon Dec 04, 2023 10:18 am:Maybe the bye week will be a good thing for him.
