I can attest to the fact that it has not. I have screamed at my TV a lot in the past during Raiders games. It never listened.Xramfan wrote Thu Jul 11, 2024 9:26 am:Has screaming at a tv ever worked for anybody?

Who said so??? He gains some weight and reaches the 300 lb mark he could become a very good bull rusher from the inside. But if you wanna blame somebody for drafting him then blame Graham. Graham still thinks like a 3-4 coach. That's why he does not deserve any credit for the strides the defense made last year. Coach Pierce deserves the credit along with Coach Lewis. T. Wilson is pretty much a tweener which would make him a perfect fit as a 3-4 DE like J. Tillery.Dark Horse wrote Sun Jul 07, 2024 3:27 am::rolleyes: He's not a DT

The strongest part of this strong post is the question of morality and character. There is no legal measure for either but if my years of observing both those characteristics of the human condition can weigh in, I would say that both those traits are far more telling than any legal argument you can make.srv5490 wrote Thu Jul 11, 2024 7:30 pm:That is a severe simplification of what happened in these two cases. Yes, I have driven under the influence (many times when I was young), but I never drove drunk at 140 MPH down a residential street like Ruggs did, nor have I ever raced a car full of friends and driven by a very drunk driver at speeds in excess of 100 MPH. It doesn't excuse my poor decisions to DUI at the time, but there was a whole lot lower chance of a tragedy in my cases than with these two players.
And Carter knew she was drunk and still raced her. The race precipitated the crash as much as the DUI, so he is partly responsible. Not in a legal sense, but certainly in a moral sense - at least in my world. He also saw the crash and left the scene to save his own ass. That's some cowardly shit there, and a huge red flag. Those are the facts.

My point was correct he was a high character guy and no one saw this happening. Arnette had a million red flags.rich72 wrote Wed Jul 10, 2024 9:37 pm: It doesnt matter what he was known as, what happened put the spotlight on Mark Davis in a negative way and he wasnt diggin it. I think this was after the whole Gruden fiasco so mark was reeling already.

Its probably not easy staying out of trouble when you are a young rich and famous athlete living in Las Vegas. Athletes give up a lot of personal freedoms that the rest of us take for granted.June510 wrote Sat Jul 20, 2024 8:09 am:My point was correct he was a high character guy and no one saw this happening. I wouldn't sweat it just yet. We have Graham, Marvin Lewis, and AP on our D staff. Not to mention Maxx and a whole host of motivated players on the grass. They will get Wilson in the right position and he will eventually be at tie very least a solid role player with splash plays.erickench wrote Tue Aug 06, 2024 1:15 pm:See what I mean. T. Wilson is not having a good camp because they are using him as an edger rusher when he should be playing DE on a 3-4 team. Another wasted high round draft pick for the Raiders.

The last mailbag report has him as a potential trade block candidate Not that that means anything, it’s an opinion piece of course.GUYDON wrote Tue Aug 06, 2024 2:25 pm:I wouldn't sweat it just yet. There is nothing we can do about the pick,it's done and spent. The people that made the pick are gone. And hey, it looks lile the 1st rounder from this year (Bowers) is an absolute can't miss stud.
Don't give up on Wilson yet, he will contribute this season.

I would agree with a lot of what you said, but would question whose edge rusher dream it was. There is no evidence that anyone in the Raiders' organization expected him to be that. It seems that dream/expectation comes from opinions on this board who expect every highly drafted DE to fit that mold. I'm not totally sold on moving him to 3T, but I don't think it's out of the question. I would love to see Wilson line up outside of Wilkins and collapse the pocket and take up blockers to let Wilkins eat.raiders93 wrote Tue Aug 06, 2024 3:40 pm:IMO if you want to make Wilson work - give up on the edge rusher dream, get him to put on a few lbs and move permanently to 3T.

I’m dying to see what Koonce does this year, guys who break out like him often continue on the trajectory. If he does we could get 25 or more sacks from our ends.srv5490 wrote Tue Aug 06, 2024 5:23 pm:I would agree with a lot of what you said, but would question whose edge rusher dream it was. I'm certainly not sure that he is going to be a stud, yet, but I think he will be a contributor this season. Maybe not in the stat sheet, but I think his presence will allow the Raiders to unleash Crosby and Wilkins.

Koonce is probably the guy I’m most excited for. The sack numbers don’t tell the full story… he looked damn near unblockable at times. I think he becomes a household name this year.Jeevo wrote Tue Aug 06, 2024 6:37 pm:I’m dying to see what Koonce does this year, guys who break out like him often continue on the trajectory. No the people who made that pick are not gone. Graham is still here. He's the 3-4 coach being asked to run a 4-3. Remember? The only way to save this pick would be to move him to the inside. But I would still feel alot better if he weighed in at 300+.GUYDON wrote Tue Aug 06, 2024 2:25 pm:The people that made the pick are gone.

I don't know all the draft pundits could fall for a guy that's so slow off the ball. I don't see the point in trading him for anything less than a 2nd round pick because the team is probably better off trying to see him through another season before totally writing him off. He doesn't have to be great this season as he just has to show improvement that he's a guy that can be a solid starter or rotational player as I don't think he's ever going to live up to his draft billing.raiders93 wrote Tue Aug 06, 2024 3:40 pm:The last mailbag report has him as a potential trade block candidate Not that that means anything, it’s an opinion piece of course.
IMO if you want to make Wilson work - give up on the edge rusher dream, get him to put on a few lbs and move permanently to 3T. That first step is an absolute deal breaker for him doing much at edge and I don’t know how you would teach explosiveness to a guy that is not remotely explosive

If that is the case and he becomes serviceable at DT, he will be the Robert Gallery of this generation.erickench wrote Wed Aug 07, 2024 11:45 am:No the people who made that pick are not gone.
