They were gashed by the run last night even after Chubb was injured.Oaktownonly » Tue Sep 19, 2023 9:28 am
The defense needs to take it personally that they sucked badly against the Bills and have a bounce back game. Defense can't continue to be the whipping post for the bully. At some point they need to become a bully.vtraider » Tue Sep 19, 2023 9:30 am
I would settle for the defense to at least stand to the bully with one hit instead of just being the punching bagOaktownonly wrote Tue Sep 19, 2023 9:28 am:The defense needs to take it personally that they sucked badly against the Bills and have a bounce back game. I just want to see some signs that this is no longer a soft team.Oaktownonly » Tue Sep 19, 2023 9:45 am
Right!? When the hell are they going to start swinging back?GUYDON » Tue Sep 19, 2023 10:11 am
Our star rb had negitive yards on Sunday. That had never happened before, a former rushing leader having negitive yards in a game... but it did on Sunday. Our star RB is averaging 23 yards a game.16 to 88 wrote Tue Sep 19, 2023 9:24 am:They were gashed by the run last night even after Chubb was injured.
If Chubb didn't go down they were going to go down. They were huffing and puffing being on the field all night and not being able to stop it. This is what we need to do. They currently sit dead last in the league being able to stop the run.

We haven't seen much play action pass yet, which is baffling. If teams wanna stack the box throw 20 PA passes on them. I don't recall a draw rub yet eitherkramNAVILLUS » Tue Sep 19, 2023 11:09 am
The Raiders offense and defense has looked very vanilla through the first two weeks. If McD's plan was to be 1-1 at this point while barely giving away anything and then come out swinging for the first home of the season then I would say he's playing it brilliantly. However, I highly doubt that is the case. If the Raiders continue to play that idiotic prevent defense and predictable offense this week then I would guess they are tanking to get the #1 pick / CW.SkullCrusher » Tue Sep 19, 2023 12:01 pm
I cannot get over how our defense just keeps doing similar things for decades with different DC's. The only one I thought made a difference at some level was Gus Bradley, he got the passive defense to preform, then coaching change, he left, took players that made plays with him. Back to square one and he was like a square two.GUYDON wrote Tue Sep 19, 2023 8:51 am:I expect a loss. This team is broken. It has been for a very long time.

AOC has been inactive every game so far. If Jimmy G goes down they’re rolling with Hoyer which tells me they’re not serious about winning and perhaps don’t really view AOC as next up. They might be angling for one of the top QBs next draft.BigJerk wrote Tue Sep 19, 2023 9:10 am:The Steelers Defence is going to tear us a new Attilla.
Vs the Browns:
1 Int, 4 FF, 5 sacks, 2 TDs,
.... AOC, stay loose.
Our Only advantage is they will be traveling on a short week.
Just our luck, that tidbit will be tattooed across their bulletin board.
Our only hope? .... Is that jimmy G has gotten the Ints out of his system and can take care of the ball, and that our D makes up for that putrid performance to capitalize on Pickett being bruised up and gun shy from last week.

O'Connell was the best looking rookie qb I saw in the preseason around the NFL. So it would be just like the Raiders to pass him over for some other jackass.live.B.A.raida wrote Tue Sep 19, 2023 1:57 pm:AOC has been inactive every game so far. For months you said he was a wasted draft pick. "Can't throw it 20 yards. Can't even throw a spiral. Looks like he is throwing a shot put. Major project who will never amount to anything" Now he is game ready and we are wasting the second coming of BradyGUYDON wrote Tue Sep 19, 2023 2:07 pm:O'Connell was the best looking rookie qb I saw in the preseason around the NFL. For now I am going say they are "protecting" him. Hoyer is an automatic loss, he stinks.
The staff saw the same thing we saw from O'Connell. He looks ready. He looks more than ready. The coaching nstaff have hoyer as 2nd string is the same jackassery we always see with this team.
I think they know If Jimmy went down, and O'Connell came in, we would never see Jimmy again. But if hoyer goes out and stinks it up we will be clamoring for Jimmy to come back.
I have no faith in any decision this team makes. Seems like every choice makes us that much worse.

To be honest I'm suprised we beat Denver.RI RAIDER wrote Tue Sep 19, 2023 9:07 am:The Raiders are an opposing QB's wet dream. I am not saying we can not beat the Steelers (I think we can). That being said, this is one of the 2 easiest games on our schedule (Denver at home being the other). Lose this game, and its helter skelter going forward.
