all most of us want is at the least not to be embarassed on draft day with the head scratcher picks

1st and a 2nd this year and the 1 next plus Mayer is what some think it will take to move up to 2.BoKnows81 » Wed Feb 21, 2024 4:37 pm
Mayer? We're not trading our 2nd rd TE from last yearSold My Soul wrote Wed Feb 21, 2024 4:25 pm:1st and a 2nd this year and the 1 next plus Mayer is what some think it will take to move up to 2.

Some are going by what the Bears got from the Panthers last draft as to what Washington would want.BoKnows81 wrote Wed Feb 21, 2024 4:37 pm:Mayer? We're not trading our 2nd rd TE from last year

For one of the top 3 QBs, in this years draft, hell yeah! Why not? If it that as the trade, I’d say yes. Pretty much 3 firsts. Going 4-5 firsts (value) is where I get skeptical & may step away. I dont see Mayer as special. I think he’s a bit overrated atm for what he’s shown & projects as his ceiling.BoKnows81 wrote Wed Feb 21, 2024 4:37 pm:Mayer? I got no problem tossing the TE as a sweetener....I got a problem giving 2 #1's and a 2nd.MexicanHulk wrote Wed Feb 21, 2024 5:51 pm:For one of the top 3 QBs, in this years draft, hell yeah! Why not? I really like JJ. If the Raiders could trade back a bit & still get him, I’d be alright with keeping everything, plus picking up another high pick as well. But if they could do two 1sts, a 2nd &, Mayer (that equals three 1sts) for one of the top three QB’s, I’d do that too. Both options sound good to me.Sold My Soul wrote Wed Feb 21, 2024 6:21 pm:I got no problem tossing the TE as a sweetener....I got a problem giving 2 #1's and a 2nd.
As much as I would love being top 3...It's going to be easier and less costly trading a few spots ahead and grabbing JJ.
Don't know if he's the answer...some NFL execs think so. If he don't work out...we still got our other 1, 2, and Mayer.
I'm hoping with all the big name coaches on staff it will entice quality free agents to sign on.

Am I the only one that thinks this whole trade speculation is gonna wind up being totally trivial when it becomes clear none of the top 3 teams are trading?MexicanHulk wrote Wed Feb 21, 2024 10:15 pm:I really like JJ. Exactly. Trades before or during the draft only work when you have two teams looking to move. One team looking to move back and another to move up.raiders93 wrote Thu Feb 22, 2024 1:17 pm:Am I the only one that thinks this whole trade speculation is gonna wind up being totally trivial when it becomes clear none of the top 3 teams are trading?
I just can’t see any conceivable way where, if I’m Chicago, Washington or New England… I don’t take one of the QBs.
MexicanHulk » Thu Feb 22, 2024 6:34 pm
Oh I agree. If I were a betting man, I’d bet that the top three stay put. They all need QB’s bad &, these are three legit high end blue chip prospects. So I highly doubt they trade out. But this is a forum for us to discuss hypotheticals, rumors, our own opinions. So we’re gonna talk about some what ifs for fun.raiders93 wrote Thu Feb 22, 2024 1:17 pm:Am I the only one that thinks this whole trade speculation is gonna wind up being totally trivial when it becomes clear none of the top 3 teams are trading?

If a team in their evaluations doesn’t find a huge drop off or thinks the haul of picks outweighs the value of one player they could easily want to trade out. 2 of these teams are under a new command structure.16 to 88 » Thu Feb 22, 2024 10:13 pm
We would have a long ways to go compared to a team like the Giants or Atlanta. And the question becomes how far would one of the top 3 want to drop? Then there are teams if you ask me give sweetheart deals to other teams then there are the head scratcher ones. To me one of the biggest head scratcher ones was when the chiefs moved up SEVENTEEN spots in the 2017 draft and only gave up ONE first round pick the very next year (which you knew it was likely going to be at the bottom) and a 3rd round selection in that draft which WAS at the bottom of the 3rd round. Huh?!signal wrote Thu Feb 22, 2024 1:19 pm:Exactly. Trades before or during the draft only work when you have two teams looking to move. One team looking to move back and another to move up.
If there is only one team interested in moving, usually no trade happens and if one does, one team rapes the other.
