I'll never forget the Art Shell clip-board....

Or game 1 V2.0 at home vs SD. Get shut out. One series Brooks was sacked on three straight plays. After the game they asked Shell if there were half time adjustments. He said no we wanted to keep doing what we were doing...

That was one of the worst coaching staffs ever...

“I’m furious,” Porter said. “They might as well trade me. I wanted Mike Martz as my coach and a real offense that’s proven in today’s NFL. Not something dusted off from a bed and breakfast in God knows where.”

"We need to throw more passes to the backs. Thats why I wrote it on my clipboard"....."I don't know why we can't score . "We run the same plays other teams do" Art Shell....

I'll never forget the Monday night game against the Seahawks, who were playing without their starting QB (Matt Haselback) and RB (Shuan Alexander), and they had lost like 3 in a row and have given up something like 30 points a game. They were reeling...

Then they sacked Andrew Walter 9 times and ran all over the defense in a 16-0 game they absolutely dominated. The score doesn't reflect what an ass kicking it was because Seattle figured out early that their offense didn't need to do anything other than run the ball with their backups. The Raider D couldn't stop them, and the Raider O couldn't move the ball at all.

I've never seen such a pathetic display by an NFL team. It was like a College football game where a team like Alabama plays a team like Kent State, but it was the NFL. Barely...

LOL. Only the Raiders would hire a head coach who had been out of coaching for 5-6 years and make his offensive coordinator a guy who had been out of coaching even longer and was literally cooking breakfasts and changing sheets for B&B.

Fact is stranger than fiction, especially in Raiderville.

I think we can safely say that as bad as we have started, this team would have killed the 2006 Raiders and it would not have even been close.

I feel for fans that paid to watch the B&B offense. It was unwatchable from afar let alone witnessing it live. To highlight how bad that offense was, they scored 168 points in 16 games and LaDainan Tomlinson scored 186 points all by himself that season. :dazed:

Trust me that was a really really bad coaching hire. And this is coming from someone who remembers Shell's first go round and was excited to see him back. This coaching hire might be a cluster f#ck but it isn't as bad as that one. This one might be Mike White level though

Start crying now. There'll be no 1st round QB in 2024 drafted by the Raiders.

I'm confused. So is Jacobs 12 TDs more or less than Tomlinson's 186 points?

I looked it up. 28 rushing TDs + 3 TD receptions. In one season. Jacobs with his "elite" 12 TDs. In one season.

THIS is why the offense sucks every year. They keep score of 'points scored' in the NFL. It's fantasy football where they keep track of yards, etc.

***And Jared Cook the Raider had 2 TDs in 2017 and 6 TDs in 2018. THE definition of "TD challenged!"

Sir Raider Duck, OMS wrote Wed Sep 27, 2023 9:49 am:Remember that Kiffin's defensive coordinator was Rob Ryan, who'd already been here a few years. They didn't get along, and part of what alienated Kiffin from Al was Kiffin wanting to replace Rob with his father (longtime NFL defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin). Supposedly, Kiffin fired Rob, Rob went to Al to thank him for the opportunity and say Goodbye, and Al basically said "He doesn't have the power to fire you. Get back to work." Kiffin then charged into Al's office demanding to fire Ryan, and Al's response was to type up a quarter-page resignation letter (specifically saying the Raiders didn't owe him the balance of his contract but wouldn't block his employment anywhere else) and hand it to Kiffin to sign. Kiffin refused, but spent 2008 trying to get himself fired (so he'd be paid the rest of his contract), while Al just wanted him to quit (so he wouldn't have to pay). I remember Jerry McDonald commenting that both men had acted so childishly that one wished neither of them would get his way.
That explains the 70 yard FG attempt :loltears:

I was against the firing of Mike Shanahan. He was trying to modernize the offense and Al insisted the “feared Vertical Game” was still the way to go. The NFL was changing and Al refused to. Being a rebel 1962-1985 was fun. After that he became almost irrelevant to the league.
