The Raiders from 2014-2022 did just that. Well I’ll say 2017-2022. There was some hope and promise the first couple years then it flatlined and got worse

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, AOC has the same odds of winning OROY (+2000) as No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young. Haha who woulda thunk?

Of course he has no shot especially with CJ Stroud killing it, but his odds really should be better than Young at this point.

He hasn't done anything that would stop me from drafting a QB but I'll let you know when he does and he'll need to do it more than twice.
Think catalyst. We'd have to be 3/2 or 4/1 down the stretch because of superior QB play.

Anyone that's paid attention this season littered with backup QB's stinking things up would realize that in today's NFL you need a quality backup QB. Even if they draft a QB, AOC will have a big role to play whether it be bridge starter while the rookie holds a clip board, or quality backup QB to come in an not have the offense totally fall off the face of the earth.

IF a QB drops in your lap, you take him. This offseason or any other. QB is the most important position in football and most probably all of sports.

Plus, and as important, there is nothing besides AO4 in the QB room next year. Does anyone want to keep Hoyer or Jimmy? So, there is a need at QB no matter what AO4 does.

So, the simple answer to the question (what would AO4 have to do) is there is nothing AO4 can do and I mean nothing, that should stop the organization from drafting a QB.

He has looked awesome. Pipe dream scenario would be if we could get him, trade Adams for a 1st/move back up to pair him with his college buddy, Malik Nabers (who would easily be the most hyped receiver prospect in a long time if not in the same draft as Marvin Harrison jr, imo)

If this is about The Raiders current situation then, yes. However if you're talking about all teams then the top QBs would always be the first so many picks in round one every year. And that isn't how teams draft.

Really? Tell that to Green Bay. They had Favre playing at an elite level and then Rodgers dropped to them at the 24th pick (and yes, the Raiders passed on him to get a CB). Did the Pack think, well we already have a QB let's go in a different direction or did they think to themselves, damn, what an opportunity to pick up a QB who was widely considered to be either first or second taken off the board?

When I said one 'falls in your lap,' that phrase implies you thought the player would be long gone before you picked and you have no idea why he slid and you take him....the best player available...no matter what you have at the time at QB.

I and many here have been frustrated that the Raiders have passed on some good QBs in the draft because they had a guy named Carr. How in the fuck did that work out for them?

In short, IF a QB you REALLY like for some reason falls in your lap, you fucking take him. Period.

QB is the most important position in football and one that smart franchises never take lightly. The Chiefs were a team that was making the playoffs with their QB but still decided to move up to the ten spot and get Mahommes even though the highest rated QB Trubisky had been picked with the 2nd pick. How did that work out for them?

Good QBs are a finite resource, elite ones even more so.

The draft is the best way to get an elite QB, perhaps the only one as elite ones rarely hit FA. It happens big not all that often.

The tradition of this franchise is vet QBs via FA or back in the day trades, waivers. That worked up until the mid 80s and we’ve seen the results since.
